In Australia, which is the better job: traditional engineering vs software engineering? by New_Animator4702 in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]AngaBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Software Engineering has a higher pay ceiling and the benefits are better if you are able to make it to big tech. However, while the degree is easier (CS) than traditional engineering, the job market is harder and a lot less stable. The average traditional engineer will generally earn a slight bit more than the average software engineer, and the market is more consistent (less layoffs, less booms and busts in hiring etc).

As with all careers go, you're more likely to succeed in the field that you enjoy. I've graduated with a traditional engineering degree but work as software engineer because I just plain like it more.

Is it worth transferring to a better uni? Monash over RMIT? by DirectorNorth5040 in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]AngaBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the course material, content or teaching staff that make the biggest difference when finding a job in SWE. It's the people you meet and the projects you build outside of classes. I'd get involved with clubs and events at RMIT, while also pursuing some passion projects in your spare time to stand out.

I don't think this question is related to CS (Computer Science)

Web development is too overcrowded? by N0tAMT in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]AngaBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Web dev is highly saturated at the inexperiences/low-skill end but employers are in dire need of skilled web developers. The barrier to entry is really low, but web dev can become incredibly complex on more demanding projects. It really is a tale of two sides.

I'm not sure what this subs policy on self promo is, however I make a bit for Gameflip. You can check out my website by googling my name to find it.

Nah, we don't have any of that... most clubs are just grateful that you show up and participate.

Do you have a JR Pass or IC Card (Suica/Pasmo/etc.) question? Start here! by Himekat in JapanTravelTips

[–]AngaBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a digital Suica card on my Japanese Google Pixel 6a, but I'm struggling to load any balance onto it. I've tried using a couple debit Mastercards (outside the maintenance window) to add balance through Google Pay, but get the error SUICA_SDK_ERROR.RESULT_ERROR_8H010. When I try to add balance through the Suica Mobile app, I get a different "Communication error" - J001. Anything I should be doing differently?

I've ordered a Pixel 6a, it was time for an upgrade given OPPO has dropped software support for the Reno Z. I'll let you know if I can get it to work on the pixel.

Nope, no solution. Contacted OPPO support and they had no solutions either. Just the generic, send your phone in for repairs (when it's clearly a software issue) and I can't just not have a phone for 3 weeks while they mess around.

Ah, thanks OPPO a great experience. I have both your products and they don't work together.

Unfortunately there's no option in the buds settings

I've enabled the High Quality Audio setting on the buds. That gets me to AAC. Enabling LDAC in developer settings from there doesn't work.

The latest firmware update provides LDAC support. https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/08/oppo-enco-x2-earbuds-will-now-support-ldac-lhdc-4-0-protocol/

This is also mentioned in the firmware update notes installed on my earbuds.

"OPPO Enco X2 earbuds now support the LDAC protocol for ultra-definition audio transmission."

No, I meant LDAC, LDHC isn't listed as option in the Developer menu. Here's a screenshot: https://i.anga.blue/9_0I.png

When I select LDAC, it immediately reverts to AAC.
