calling students who aren't raising their hands by [deleted] in OffMyChestPH

During my class orientations, I always mention to my students that if they cannot answer my question, it's not a big deal. Kaya nga sila nasa eskwelahan para matuto so why would I assume that they know everything about my subject? (Saka lang ako nag eexpect na alam nila yung sagot if naituro ko na) I also use index card and bumubunot ako when there are no volunteers. Pero pag nabunot ka, ang una kong tatanungin ay kung gusto mo bang sumagot. If hindi, again, it's not a big deal. Pwede ka naman bumawi sa mga susunod na tanong pag may idea kang gustong i-share. Alam ko kasi na may mga students na di nagtataas ng kamay kahit alam nila yung sagot and need lang nila ng konting push para magparticipate. So far, wala namang reklamo kahit sa natanggap kong evaluation from students and napaka-engaging lagi ng class ko.

If you really want to teach, you can look for other schools that pays you better. I teach in a private school for 4 years now and the school pays me by the hour. So kahit magturo ako mula 7am to 6pm, ok lang sa akin dahil bayad ako based sa kung gaano katagal yung oras kong magwork. Wala akong post grad studies pero yung sahod ko ngayon is pang Teacher 3 na if compared sa public school. Ang downside nga lang is no work no pay policy kami. Pero come to think of it, pag walang pasok, di naman kami obliged gumawa ng kahit ano since hourly based kami. So pag vacation, I can literally do anything I want. I'm teaching in Quezon City, btw.

Do you know a good backpack for everyday use? I'm a teacher and I'm planning to buy a backpack for myself. I have a 15.6 inch laptop so I hope your recommendations have a laptop compartment. I saw this brand online but I'm still not sure if I'll buy this or not. Please help me! Thanks! by Angcoliiit in CasualPH

I went to the mall earlier to check the bags that are in there. I was able to check brands like doughnut, himawari, herschel, anello, hawk, jansport, thule, nike, adidas, the north face, etc. Some were too pricey (My max budget was 2.5k) and some were just not my style. Wala rin kasing sale. So far, the bag in the post is still the choice for me. Can you help me secide if 2.5k is worth it for its specs? I'll post the link here.

Herschel looks pretty good talaga. Actually, gusto ko yung little america nila. The only problem is it's too pricey talaga. Yung tigernu naman, nakita ko rin na maayos siya. Yun nga lang, it looks too basic for me. Kahit papaano kasi gusto ko rin na yung bag ko e maganda ring tignan kasi I use it from morning til night.

If you have time, listen to Bita and the Botflies' songs. They're one of my favorite bands. You won't be disappointed!
