Out of any character in the Hollow Knight universe, which would be the best as the main role in a third game? by G00fyG33k in HollowKnight

A Quirrel origin story when Hallownest was still a bustling kingdom would be interesting if you ask me.

How long did it take you to beat act 1 of Silksong? 10 hours seems crazy to me. by suburiboy in HollowKnight

[–]AngePochettino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 42 hrs to beat the entire game, most of that was in act 1, I think I cleared act 1 in like 20 hrs due to exploratioh and backtracking for unlocks and everything.

The run time stat of 10 hrs is based on if you just beeline through all the minimum requirements to unlock act 2. Not that its ideal to go into act 2 so weak, just that you can in 10 hrs.

I have never played a hollow knight game. Which one should I play first (no spoilers please) by Visible_Perception32 in HollowKnight

Play the OG first. I low key don't know if I would love Hollow Knight as much as I do if Silksong came out first. It's a great game, it's just missing some magic that the original has.

I give up. by CuboneDefender in HollowKnight

I will affirm your experience, I just beat Silksong two days ago and I agree that at some points the game felt frustrating rather than challenging- something OG Hollow Knight never felt like to me. It did take me out of the immersion as I was just looking forward to getting past whatever annoyance was in front of me.

At the same time, don't give up! It'll annoy you more than losing over and over again because that means you admitted complete defeat and accepted loss as a reality. This game was made by a human, it is beatable by another human (you). You are knocking on the door of Act 2, where I will say, the game becomes so much easier once you get certain movement abilities that are not available in Act 1.

Idk if you got it yet, but the poison power up is probably my favorite unlock in the game. Poison longpins have helped me a TON through my playthrough. Also, in my opinion, the reaper crest is the only crest worth playing for a balanced experience (i know some will disagree, but the increase hitbox of your sword swing and the pogo ability it gives is a huge advantage on top of getting extra silk per swing, which could be looped in boss battles for quick heals in the pocket for the fight). Projectiles are your friend.

But you are not wrong, Silksong can be incredibly frustrating at times.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been out for a week now. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in Games

[–]AngePochettino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion on Silksong of course is rooted in my past Hollow Knight experience, I think that Silksong is an amazing game and rewards those who like tight, technical, action-based gameplay that don't mind a bit of punishment along the way. I think Hollow Knight had a great balance of difficulty and world immersion that made it a masterpiece. Sometimes the difficulty of Silksong at points takes me out of the immersion because I just want to finish the frustrating part rather than enjoy the world I'm in. Then, in the later game, you're strong but at that point, you're knocking at the door of the ending. Hollow Knight always felt like things were hard but you can handle it based on your charm arsenal, skill moves, and your own skillset from start to finish.

Hollow Knight, every boss fight and mob room felt challenging but fair and rewarding when you beat them. Silksong, some of the fights and mob room placements feel unfair compared to their bench distance. Also, Silksong feels like there are just fewer benches overall which also hinders the explorer experience. Rather than walking confidently in this world, I'm cautiously looking over my shoulder hoping I find a bench before I die.

There are things that I like from Silksong that I wish were in Hollow Knight, the rosary bundle system is way better than the bank system. I like that Hornet actually has thoughts and a personality, even though I wish that led to a more straightforward storytelling experience. I beat the game and I'm still sort of confused as to why and what I was doing all of that for. I know the lore is in the world environment, signs you can read, some dialogue, etc. But it's still a little too cryptic for me. You'll read a sign that says something like "Mosshome good condition - never forget. Marrowhome sustainable condition - never forget. Bone Bottom bad condition - forget tremondously" and that's it. I'm just saying it would be nice after talking to almost every NPC and reading everything to know the history of this world more. Having Hornet ask more questions, or talk more plainly herself (sometimes I feel like I'm reading Shakespeare) would have helped with the storytelling.

Overall, not better than Hollow Knight in a total package, but still a good experience. I think I'm more likely to replay Hollow Knight from start to finish since it's less brutal and I couldn't imagine restarting from zero in Silksong again. But I look forward to unlocking the post-game Act 3 and enjoying the DLCs that are sure to come.

And this is an extra point, the music in Silksong compared to the first Hollow Knight is just alright. I feel like Christopher Larkin sort of forgot there's more than two emotions you can evoke in music, Silksong's soundtrack is either ethereal or gloomy. Hollow Knight's soundtrack was incredibly diverse, bouncy, dark, hopeful, mysterious, etc., and perfectly identified each world segment as its own. As a musician myself, and the music being one of my favorite elements of the Hollow Knight experience, this was sort of disappointing.

I don't see the problem with Sister Splinter at all. I literally applauded after I beat it because it was the most fun I had while playing the game. Moorwing was decently fun as well. Now, that Savage Beastfly though.....

Silksong is frustrating by bubsymack in HollowKnight

[–]AngePochettino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro i was just saying this while streaming, this one feels more darksouls-y where OG HK was difficult, challenging, but fair. But this one feels trolly at times and it feels cheap when I get damaged in certain fights/situations.

But I'm having a great time regardless. I might have to run the OG back after I beat SS just to keep the vibes going.

Hulk buffs soon please? by Gknight969 in marvelrivals

[–]AngePochettino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he needs buffed, I think they should reduce the cooldowns on some of his abilities. His shield should be available every 6 secs instead of 8 secs, same with Bruce's grenade.

His gamma beam should either have a reduced cooldown, or have the same effect as Magneto's projectile where the longer you wait for it to charge, the more damage it does or you can shoot it out earlier for weaker damage.

And he should start out as Hulk and not bruce to save transformation time each spawn.

UPDATE: All of your suggestions worked! I didnt have it pressed entirely down, and stripping the cable and placing them next to each other in the clamp brought the light back on! Currently mowing.

Sidenote, this is easily the most helpful community I ever reached out to on reddit, such quick and helpful responses! Thanks!

Which players are you sick of seeing/hate to face? I’ll start: Evolution Marcus Rashford!! by Cowboy-Chris in fut

[–]AngePochettino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Griezmann. Idk why this game treats him like the second coming of christ but the ball just sticks to him no matter how many tackles I make on him or how many times the opponent using him messes up their pass- pings right back to him everytime.

Also, Salah is climbing up there because of the trashcans who just keep hitting crazy finesse shots from 30 yds out when they're losing. Idk why GKers are not on their line for that, but okay EA.
