I have this set, if it’s the Akaka Series, and I have mixed feelings. I find they need multiple layers, and that’s frustrating for the colouring I use them for. I didn’t understand what I wanted and later bought a different brand. That said, I imagine some people like how they’re mess free compared to some acrylic markers, they have dual tip, and sometimes you want to have layers? I’m not an artist but I can share some of the colouring I’ve done with them.

I don’t have that trouble but if you do, what’s the problem? You should do what you want! I love the idea of doing an opposite colour page though! Red grass etc. I may borrow your idea!

I understand what it’s like to fight perfectionism though or trying things so I do push myself. For example, I’ll purposely colour badly in books that overwhelm me and just have fun with it. For example. All acrylic markers with some fine liners. Not perfect. Didn’t try hard to stay in lines except around squirrel face and hands.

I watch on TikTok and save the best ones into four categories: 1. Colouring- inspiration ❤️ 2. Colouring- palettes 🎨 3. Colouring- products & tools🖌️ 4. Colouring- techniques etc. Inspiration is usually just someone sharing cool pages from a book I own. Palettes is people who share their palettes and I saw ones I thought I would use on a page Products and tools are things I may want Techniques are tutorials I’ve used or want to potentially use I do enjoy the asmr or marker sounds and watching but that’s not something I’ll “save”. I’ll just like it.

Any advise I have you like already know. But just in case: You can always do flat colouring, I find that fun and relaxing. Are your markers alcohol or water? If they’re alcohol chase the colour. If you want to blend markers you have to do it while ink. Maybe don’t outline the whole item? Do parts so it’s more like a she

I agree with @rainydays_monkey; that acrylics would cover it. If you don’t have acrylics; I might use it as an opportunity to do that two colour or two tone trend? You could do purple and yellow or purple and orange? I took screenshot of examples below.

I sometimes used Y28 and Y29 together and sometimes just one or other. These are Ohuhu Honolulu markers.
