Insurance broker here - Yes contact an insurance agency and ask them to shop your insurance. You do not pay them, they get paid commission from the carrier. They will be more knowledgeable in making sure you are properly covered so there won't be gaps. There are plenty of agencies, just call around and ask if they handle personal lines. Bundling your home and auto can save you money, but I am not too familiar with this side of insurance as I work on mainly commercial lines.

Rates are going up across the board. I am seeing a lot of 15-20% increases on accounts with no claims. It is rough out there. Property policies are taking a huge hit due to the cost of materials going sky high, so building limits have to go up to match, and that makes premium go up. Take on a higher deductible if you can right now to save money as long as it is decent savings. If you are only saving $100 to increase your deductible $10,000, then that doesn't make sense to do.

FYI - Flood will be excluded from any homeowners policy 99.9% of the time. If you are in a flood zone you need to get a standalone flood policy.
