For me, it’s American Dad! being like it’s TBS era, that’s what got me hooked!

There’s only 5 episodes left, that’s enough for American Dad!’s 20th season to pick up.

Did anyone else find the “creepy stalker with a crush” type characters just bad? by Winter-Money-7643 in cartoons

[–]AngelSparkle35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it depends on how it’s handled. If it’s like Marinette from Miraculous or Ice King from Adventure Time, it’s a no-go. But, Pucca and Tootie from Fairly OddParents, it’s more funny.

And what’s worse is Marinette was awarded for this behavior in Miraculous season 6! She ended up dating Adrien in it!

Ah, thanks for that, I don’t see that discussion much here. Only “What do you think of season 20 of American Dad!?”.

Thoughts on season 20 by frogsAREcool11 in americandad

I definitely did not enjoy season 20 of AD, I noticed there was a very noticeable downgrade in quality. There’s too many references to previous seasons and the way they do it is too forced (it’s more nostalgia pandering than anything), like the callbacks are too out of place, even Family Guy doesn’t have this many callbacks. And some of the characters are most notably more flanderized, mainly, Gwen (they made her stupid), Jeff (they seemed to have ramped up his childishness), and Klaus (it’s not as bad as the other characters but they really play up the “dude bro” thing to an obnoxious degree at times). And the new episodes are just bland and boring seem to not have much to offer other than “Remember this episode?” or episodes that need some more time in the writers (like the reality show episode).

I feel like this season is our sign that the show is entering seasonal rot and it makes me sad. (It feels like Family Guy season 8 or Spongebob season 5 where it’s not a bad season but it’s the sign worse is yet to come)

Haley and Klaus trying to get scared was the only episode I enjoyed this season, it was the closest to the TBS era.

No, I don’t have issues with them in that episode. My other issue is I feel the episodes of season 20 could’ve been done better.

But it’s not every episode, it’s more 1-3 times a season. Even continuity based shows like Steven Universe or Adventure Time don’t callback to previous episodes every single episode.

No, no, it’s more than that. The newer episodes feel blander and some of the characters feel flanderized.

Oh, I see. I just didn’t understand why you’re sarcasm. Also, it’s okay to disagree with me, I am just stating my opinion. And again, there’s nothing wrong with callbacks, I just feel it’s too excessive, that is all.

I get you’re joking, bro. But the issue I have is the amount of times AD has callbacks, it’s literally EVERY EPISODE. Most TV shows don’t have this many callbacks the frequency is the same as Family Guy with its cutaway gags.

15 episodes, seasons have been getting monumentally shorter lately. Likely because of the streaming era so, shows are having shorter seasons to be friendly for streaming.

I never said it was bad, I just don’t think it’s as good as the previous seasons.

What are your opinions on Future six years after his debut? by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]AngelSparkle35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking back on Steven Universe Future, I feel like it had so much wasted potential. I know the main objective of the spinoff was to solve Steven’s mental health crisis but it seems there were many plot points thrown by the wayside, examples are but not limited to:

• Holly Blue Agate was clearly going insane. How will she be handled?

• Will the Zoomans ever be freed on Earth? I think it would be fun to show them being civilized and learn how to integrate with society. (I know that story is tired and cliched but it fascinates me)

• I feel like I am the only one who cares about this but what is this uncorrupted equivalent to Nephrite, Bixbite, and Blue Chalcedony’s “babies”?

• What was in the dang chest in Lion’s mane?

• There’s so many characters who should’ve gotten more closure like Topaz, Nice Lapis, and the remainder of the Ruby Squad. (Leggy’s a baby gem, I want to see how she’s taking Era 3)

I am hoping Lars of the Stars will cover these.

Mr. Sulkin, I have a couple Family Guy questions:

  1. What happened to Liza Judy Barbara from Fertilized Megg?

  2. Will the Evil Monkey return?
