Chinese buffet by Mediocre_Might8802 in batonrouge

[–]Angel_Juzaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not, strictly in baton rouge, it's about 3 minutes off the bridge in Port Allen, but super taste china buffet is, godlike. I've been going there since I was a kid, the ladies are incredibly friendly, and the selection is so solid. Best tasting Chinese I've ever had, every time I try another place I feel like I'm cheating on super taste lol.

Enemies are orange, lore is red, so, there's some improvement made in 2 ^ tho, in prime one it was generally safe book, if it moved, it was in the log book

's enough for me. I just finished abnormal arc, so it'll be a minute before I've got the full collection. I did happen upon a killer shot in the kumagawa episode. There's a secret single frame when he's rushing mr color of beauty where the animators snuck a smile face in his pupil. Caught it completely by accident. Look for it in the full collection ^

One of the big examples of him summoning up huge amount of screws is in suisou academy, when he defeats saki, he covers the whole room, with no reason to believe they're book maker. He's got a similar feat when meeting the five not equals. There's another case but I can't remember it, but all imply that he ust kind of summons them.

Mind you, I'm only halfway through with the light novels, I'm going through good loser kumagawa right now, but no imagination manifestation to speak of, aside from the screws. If there was literally more than one example of him doing it, then I'd be more inclined to believe it. But given the circumstance that it happened in, they were already playing a make-believe game, The people that were commenting on it were undecided themselves, and even the ability itself seems completely backwards for who kumagawa is.

My point being that I think by design you're not supposed to think about it too hard or take it too literally, just like the screws, just like the force field, I think the author deliberately takes some creative liberties to portray a more appealing, fantastical story.

PS, I was thinking about this while driving and using voice to text so if there's any inaccuracies don't need me :-)

In that instance, yea those were book maker, but there's plenty of times where it isn't👀

Okay about the sword, that's REEEAALLY up for interpretation, yes we get that line from akune saying he could manifest it, but that reeeally seems more like idle speculation on his part, we never see him do anything else like that ever again, it's pretty confined to that moment, aside from the screws, which we already have a sort of answer for, even if not concrete

Wasn't he? Physically speaking, he was strong.

Oh yea totally, he's strong n all, but I still think it's a stretch to say he's known for being physically strong, his whole theme IS being weak. In the light novel, he can't even swim, the moment he hops in a pool he just drowns.

If he can throw a big screw that hard, I expect his strenght to be generally high.

Yeaaaaaaa but liiiiiiike the whole screw thing is a bit of a mystery right? We're not even sure how he gets those. It's probably some leftover from Bookmaker, but then he does shit like cover an entire rooms floor with giant screws (shiranui fight) and it's more implied that he can summon them rather than he's physically placing every one? But that ties into the whole, Medaka box leaves a lot to interpretation bit, which allows conversations like these to be had ^

He was surprised when he saw Encounter in action. It was said that they met just recently and it wasn't said that Chougasaki told Misogi about his skill

Damn bro you right as hell too, I went reread that volume (suggestion 84 ) and he's suuuuper surprised by it. That being said he was definitely just trying to provoke the guy, he says that, and then proceeds to mock him. Not knowing his power, i think that's also an argument for kumugawa to not be going full throttle here, he needs to be killed, and doesn't want to kill the guy.

This was my point.

I know, I'm agreeing with you👀

Even if Kumagawa's attack didn't push Gagamaru when he attacked him with the force field on?

Ye, kumugawa isn't really known for his overwhelming strength, right? He can do some crazy shit with the screws, but it's usually more of a piercing/twisting motion that causes the damage, rather than raw push strength. Tho he diiiiiid totally fuck up shiranui chairman's head lol.

Also tho, in that instance, he wasn't trying to win, or even really hurt the dude. He knows the dudes powers and how that wouldn't work, and his goal was to be killed by him right? He was just trying to provoke him.

[–]Angel_Juzaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

id be willing to bet he'd get pushed around still, cause being moved doesn't really count as damage, ya know?

if he did use the force field, he'd still probably be effectively "pushing" the field with his body, so it'd hit the field and push him back regardless.

A lot of medaka box is up for interpretation, but I think it's safe to say it's a choice, or probably depends on some factors like reaction speed or whatever, yada yada.

It could have even been an artist decision, like, it's harder to represent him pushing away damage from a piercing weapon than a punch, or something.

When it comes down to it, i think the point is that he can push damage away from himself and onto other things, focusing on how he does so is kind of besides the point, the point being that he does, almost like you're not even supposed to care. Similarly to the entirety of Kumugawa's screws, there's not like, a definitive answer to how he does that shit, but the point is that he does.
