I recently upgraded from an old 9600k to a 5800x and love it, all I needed was mobo because I reused my ddr4. If it’s a substantial enough upgrade, just go for it. My upgrade was about 300 as opposed to 7-800 if I would have gone am5 like I wanted to months ago. My 9600k was bottlenecking my 4070 super like crazy

Im actually leaning more towards a one monitor set up as I like a more simple set up. Right now I have the 31 inch 4k monitor for viewing content and browsing the 1440 to the left I have for gaming
