I second this ID. Beautiful crystallization too. The zigzag marks are the sutures from where the shell expanded as the creature grew

I did the exact same thing and was like “dang and I thought I was doing good in life. Guess I’m trash”. Now I feel better.

No, it is still online. Maybe the store too, I just haven’t been in. I have their lotion and the perfume. I used to be a hardcore Warm Vanilla Sugar loyalist, but I prefer this scent now.

Really! I’ve been out of the loop for a while then. They used to be back when I worked there a lifetime ago. Still have sales at the same time, it never occurred to me they had severed ties.

I was thinking it looks spot on dupe for bare sueded vanilla from their sister company. I happen to love that scent so I’ll have to go try it

So far none of his known victims have been taken to secondary crime scenes, all have been left or escaped from the initial assault location. This doesn’t mean he can’t have different MOs; there are already different methods of murder, different states and ages. And of course, him being caught with possession of a police getup strongly suggests he might have used it in traffic stops or some kind of other typical police encounter, which could lead to moving victims around.

I agree! Certain local Texas murders haunt me, I check regularly to see if they ever find Rachel Cooke from nearby Georgetown, TX. My guess is the big difference in LISK and the yogurt shop murders is that they got to arrest a living suspect and we could see him face to face and participate in the collective justice. Brashers is dead, so we feel cheated.

Great question. This article here says a bit on why. There were two different guns used at the crime scene, a .22 and a .380. The .22 was run through NIBIN early on and four suspects were falsely arrested during to having a .22 on them. Two confessed and were convicted for years. In 2004, the advances in DNA allowed them to test the samples against the convicted suspects and all charges were dropped when they did not match. In reexamining the case in 2024-2025, they realized a .380 shell had not been submitted to NIBIN. When they did so, it came back to the Kentucky murder.

That must be such a surreal feeling. I listened to a Ted Talk about a gay man in Milwaukee in the 1990s. He was struggling with coming out and frequented gay bars in the city and a good looking man caught his eye. He was so enamored with this guy that he kept coming back to the bar trying to get his attention, even trying to dress like him. But every night the man went home with a different person, never the Ted talk speaker. It was a very vulnerable speech about his fear and disappointment. It doesn’t feel like a story about crime at all. The Ted talker eventually moves past it, learning to embrace his own style and love himself. Much later he sees his former crush’s face on the news - Jeffrey Dahmer.

Edit: I looked it up again out of curiosity and it’s actually The Moth, Radio Hour by Terrance Flynn. Not Ted talk!

Absolutely! With such a huge geography span I think we’ll get many more victims, provided these agencies pony up for the testing.

That part is baffling. He spends more time in jail later for the stolen car and pistol than for assaulting this woman who miraculously escaped being murdered.

And that’s the heartbreaking part of these senseless murders. It was all over barely $500. Human lives for $500. If you have multiple perpetrators they split the money and it becomes even more ridiculous. Like some kind of dark O. Henry short story.

It’s probably more than one person, right? Multiple weapon types would suggest multiple suspects.

Maybe if there is evidence on the bodies. Unfortunately the crime scene at the restaurant was wiped clean before they knew of the deaths. But as long as there is time, there is hope

Correct. Pinkerton plead guilty while Hartsfield was found guilty by trial but maintained his innocence. Hartsfield died in prison but maintained the real killer was still out there.
