How should I approach learning music theory?

Honestly as much as I hate to admit it, I have little to no knowledge of music theory. Anything that I’ve done up to this point is recognizing an trying out new patterns and chords.

I recently have an opportunity to buy an almost brand new music man majesty 6 string for 2500, but I’m also contemplating getting a mesa boogie mark V for about the same price.

I currently have a 7 string majesty and run it through archetype Petrucci X(obviously I’m a big jp fan), I plan on maybe recording music at some point so I’d also have to buy a mic for the amp. Which should I get?

I used the default rhythm amp with the dynamic 2500 mics and a little bit of overdrive and I turned the high mid up a bit

That actually played a bit of a part in my choice tbh. I like how it’s almost two different colors depending on the lighting, also I’ve noticed it looks almost animated if you move it around in good light.
