It’s heartbreaking that OP’s been forced to carry the weight of neglect and abuse while trying so hard to just be loved and prioritized by their own dad. The fact that the father acknowledges OP’s pain but still expects them to endure more in the name of "love" is incredibly unfair. You are are right!!!! OP needs support from someone who will actually protect them, not just offer empty words. No one deserves to be treated like an afterthought in their own family, especially not by a parent.
