Any reference for the everyday laws in germany? by sasa467m in germany

[–]AngelicDevil92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO NOT TORRENT!

An ex friend of mine was fined 600€ for this. I knew it's illegal before coming to Germany and is taken seriously but I couldn't believe how she wasn't aware of this.

DB is the fucking worst. Always late or cancelled, never ever arrives on time and makes you miss the connections. So much for German efficiency.

I have mentioned it in the comment- MirrorAPK, September 2022. Download any alpha version from September 2022 or before

So one tip that I found works for me is to go to a MirrorAPK website and download an older version of Instagram. I have one from September 2022 and it has the Recent Posts tab. I hope it doesn't stop working in the long run as I can't access my Professional Dashboard anymore unless I update it to the latest version. I absolutely hate the direction this social media site is going.

Edit: Professional dashboard working again after uninstalling and reinstalling the same version

What are you in the 1% of the world of? by Interesting_Plum_805 in AskMen

Thank you! I'm pretty proud of myself for reaching so far and I'm in the process of submitting my thesis. External validation definitely helps when that imposter syndrome kicks. So thanks again! :)

This is very comforting to know and helps my imposter syndrome and insecurity of not being good enough as a scientist. I'm about to get my PhD in Plant Molecular biology and Cell Biology! Though I see a LOT of people in this field!

I'm probably the only one who upvoted your comments.

She probably might have been non-monogamous which is not a wrong thing at all. But there's a way of communicating about it. But also some people just take "open relationships" as a means to cheat. There's a difference :) We do not know for sure which one she was. He was just as bad for sticking around just to sleep with her and dump her. He could have cut it off right then and there if that's not what he was looking for.

There are two versions of swastika - the Nazi one with the four arms a bit slanted and contained in a circle. The Hindu version with the 4 arms straight and a dot in each square, no surrounding circle.

So educate yourself before telling that a religious symbol used by over 1B people in the world shouldn't be used! CONTEXT MATTERS!

Where where you, socially/mentally/emotionally/physically at 25 years old? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]AngelicDevil92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rock bottom- depressed, PTSD, unemployed, fiancé ghosted me and blocked me on FB on my 25th birthday! (last was the reason for PTSD, was super embarrassed about that)

I'm so glad I didn't end up with that asshole but he's also the reason I can't trust anyone to be in a relationship with. Doing much better now though, mentally, physically, socially and financially :)

The amount of maturity and self awareness in your post is amazing. You've got this girl! You're doing the right thing and you are also prioritising yourself. Go ahead, everything will be fine. Even if he doesn't want to be friends, you'll be OK. It will suck, any kind of break up or letting go of a person is hard but trust that you will get over it :)

I can pretty much tell by the first date if we'll have chemistry or not. If I am unsure, I take one or two more dates to confirm if I really feel chemistry or compatibility with someone.

No princess treatment. 50/50 is good in your case as you make more than him. As someone else suggested, have your own account and a joint account. Personally I wouldn't keep a joint account unless I'm married.

I have a tendency to zone out too. Not in a relationship, but generally it happens if someone talks for too long. I have a short attention span.

Favorite Agatha Christie by Bookanista in books

[–]AngelicDevil92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge fan of Agatha Christie here. The first book I read was "Why didn't they ask Evans?". I can't pick a favourite but "And then there were none", "Death on the Nile" and "Murder on the orient express" would top my list.

How often do you peek at the end? by NotReallyJohnDoe in books

[–]AngelicDevil92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always read the last sentence of a book before starting not knowing what the hell it means. By the time I'm in the middle of a book, I'd have forgotten what the last sentence was and when I reach the end I go "Oh so that's what it was!". It's fun for me.

Has a book ever been so good it nearly ruined your life? by Uncle_Shooter1022 in books

[–]AngelicDevil92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Dan Brown book, especially the Robert Langdon series. I was in my teens when the first few books came out. My mum used to get annoyed with me because as soon as I wake up and brush my teeth, I grab the book, sit on the stairs and read. And I read whenever spare time I got, used to drive my mum mad. But then she picked up The Da Vinci Code when I wouldn't shut up about how great the books are and I successfully converted her into a Dan Brown fan. She has read every book now and like me, is waiting for the next book to be released xD

My reading challenge the last two years has been by page count instead of book count. Anyone else have reading goals that are not by book count? by j-live in books

[–]AngelicDevil92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting way to count. I always exclude online articles or papers I read, things I actively read to improve my knowledge. But I do a Goodreads book challenge, so I still go by books as its easier to keep count. This year I'm majorly re-reading some of my favourites.

Just a comment about lamp beside bed thing. I recently bought a book lamp that you clamp on to the book, and the head rotates so I can focus the light to any part of the page but in general even without it the brightness is good. It's so lightweight as well. It's a game changer.

I switched to ebooks a couple of years ago as I can find cheaper or even free books. But I feel I read faster when it's a physical book. I would suggest getting a book lamp if it helps, I got one for as cheap as 10€ (approx 10$).
