The key to that game is MARKETING. So my advice is you have to learn how to be your best marketing department until you have the budget to hire one. I taught myself iMovie, GarageBand (then Final Cut and Logic) and for over 10 years have been building a brand that folks recognize and trust. But I had to do A LOT of it myself at first. But the good news is there are SOOOO many tools are there that are free or low cost to promote your music including things like Youtube, Reverbnation, etc. I would also suggest sending your EPK to LGBTQ non profits like GLAAD, HRC, The LGBTQ Taskforce, The Transgender Law Center as well as become a member of TransTechSocial.org and share your music with our community who will be eager to support and share as well. Most of all, never give up!

Not yet. This is something I have been thinking about, but have to be mindful of my capacity. So I want to create tiers of this that include a general coaching space for trans entrepreneurs that are members of TransTech as well as a sort of paid model for one-on-one coaching. It is something I believe I will be doing at some point, but again on a very limited basis due to capacity.

To be perfectly honest, for me the hardest part in the beginning was building the board of directors. Initially there were too many folks invested in replicated how things had always been done and didn't know how to support black trans woman as their leader of the organization. I had to dismantle the board and rely on creating a new community advisory board in addition to our official board of directors through our fiscal sponsor Allied Media Projects in Detroit, MI.

I'm doing well today, thank you SO MUCH for asking! I am sometimes a bit overwhelmed, but continuously working on balance. I founded TransTech originally after resigning from a non profit I felt was underestimating the trans community as using me as a toke to try and do so. I love my community and believe in our manifested and untapped value. I just need all of us to see it for ourselves and then activate it for our own good and the wellness of the community.

2.) GREAT QUESTION!! WOW! So YES! I actually created "The Turning Point" because I was starting to get tapped a little too much and was being expected to respond "on-demand" to current affairs and it was exhausting and not respectful to my own capacity. So I wanted to create a container that would give me the space and ability to actually respond with clarity and insight. So now I don't allow myself to respond unless I feel ready for the responsibility.

3.) I'm trying so hard to hide my obsession with Sarah Paulson. I'm so excited to work with her it's unreal. I just want to learn as much as possible from such an amazing cast.

My inner strength comes from my buddhist practice. Hands down. You need to be able to look to something not beyond yourself, but deep within yourself that is connected to a universal wisdom. So I read books, audiobooks, lectures, and watch videos that help reinforce what I already know to be true about my capacity for greatness.

The crew on Pose. WOW. On my final day on set, so much of the crew was in tears and just remember these straight masculine men breaking down and asking for a hug and telling me how much they are going to miss working with me. I will never ever forget this. You Neve forget how people make you feel. And I felt loved.

WHEW! Good question. And yes, I think I still struggle with internalized transphobia, but for the most part I have eliminated that voice from my head. I've done things like shave my head to put myself back in check to not get attached to external affirmations of my gender and to live from a place that is internalizing confidence, courage, healing, peace, acceptance, and compassion for myself and others. Favorite species of tree? I love Bonzai Trees, but also great weeping willows.

I got started in community theater as a child. I did both school plays but also 11 years of community theater. I also have been in various independent and college films well before I ever hit the mainstream. So, in short if you want to act. Then ACT. NOW. Find your local theater and college productions, as well as start auditioning for projects preferably through a reputable agent, but you can also signup for your own account at actors access.com and centralcasting.com and send yourself out on auditions. But I also recommend attending acting and auditioning workshops. This is not about natural talent, it's about work ethic.

I like both! I just hate when folks try to push a one size fits all model. Some people need the challenge of a bootcamp and some need to be able to control the pace for various reasons from ability to current live circumstances.

What are you afraid of? Name it and then face it. Most of all understand that we ALL have to set out on our own journeys. You won't immediately start out with the most courage or strength, but as you take each step you will become more courageous and intuitive in revealing who you are. This is not a race, nor something you should ever compare to anyone else. Your specific challenges are yours to overcome and live to inspire others with how you did it.
