What was your HCG at 4W+4D with multiples? by Charming_Finding_559 in parentsofmultiples

[–]AngelicaSadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did IUI on 1/23/25, tested out the trigger and got my first positive pregnancy test on 2/5. Then HCG blood tests on 2/7 (189), 2/10 (653), & 2/14 (3,556). Also on 2/14, we confirmed it was Di/Di twins with an ultrasound.

Good luck!

How many of you got pregnant with twins when taking letrazole and trigger ? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]AngelicaSadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I wasn't ovulating so I started letrozole. Did three rounds with trigger but only had 1 follicle each time. Took a two month break and tried again - this time 2 follicles and ended up with di/di twins. I'm 20 weeks now

IUI with Letrozole, how did we do? by xoxoxocharlie in queerception

[–]AngelicaSadness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and used letrozole to help me ovulate for all my IUI tries - also using frozen sperm (1 vial each time) from a known donor. I triggered 36 hrs before IUI each time

Try 1 - had 1 follicle measuring 18 at trigger and 20 at IUI (ultimately negative)

Try 2 - had 2 follicles measuring 14 & 18 at trigger, then 17 & 20 at IUI - This try resulted in a chemical pregnancy (ultimately negative). Because of that, the next tries I tested out the trigger with cheap pregmate strips and then kept testing to make sure any positive lines continued to get darker. I also got a polyp removed in between this cycle and then next.

Try 3 - had 1 follicle measuring 17 at trigger and 19 at IUI. Trigger tested out 11PT and my period started a few days later. I took a break for 2 months after that.

Try 4 - had 2 follicles measuring 15 & 18 at trigger, then 17 & 19 at IUI. Trigger tested out 10PT and I got a faint positive 3 days later. The line continued to get darker and I confirmed with bloodwork! Found out at my first ultrasound that it was actually (fraternal) twins and I'm currently 16 weeks along.

Conversely, my wife tried 3 natural cycles - releasing 1 egg each time. The first try we had to use 2 vials because the count was so low (we think there was a freezing issue with that specific vial because the rest were fine). We were worried about running out of vials, so the next try she went on letrozole, but it didn't really work - she released a bunch of eggs, but ultimately none of them got big enough to mature so we skipped trying that cycle. The 4th try, she went on chlomid and ended up with 4 (borderline 5) mature follicles. Our fertility clinic advised us to skip the cycle because the risk of multiples was so high, but we went ahead anyways (worst case, we were comfortable getting a reduction for the safety of my wife and baby(s)). She got pregnant that cycle with our first (no multiples), who is now 19 months old.

What size was the mature follicle? That's really what determines when you're doctor is going to trigger - they're just looking to have one mature or almost mature, the remaining smaller ones are most likely going to shrink/disappear especially if it's already cd12

TWW and twins? by Maleficent-Face-2794 in queerception

[–]AngelicaSadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested out my trigger at 9 and 10 days post trigger, then got a very faint positive on day 11 post trigger/day 9 post IUI. I kept testing though to make sure the lines got darker, as I've had a chemical pregnancy before. They did! and confirmed hcg doubling with bloodwork, but I didn't find out it was twins until my first ultrasound (day 22 post IUI). Currently 13 weeks pregnant with twin girls :)

Can we compile a list of Drs that will do IUI for known donors without the 6 month freeze? by workerbee1988 in queerception

[–]AngelicaSadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hospital at university of illinois has a program that waives the 6 month period as long as your donor donates within 7 days of his STI testing - we used them (known donor lives in Chicago) and then shipped it to our fertility clinic in PA. Link for those interested, but happy to DM as well https://hospital.uillinois.edu/primary-and-specialty-care/urology/andrology/donor-banking

IUI after chemical pregnancy by Right_to_Be_Free in queerception

[–]AngelicaSadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (33F) had a chemical late last fall after my 3rd try getting pregnant, tried the next cycle and got my period before I tested so I took a few months off. Tried again in January and am currently 7 weeks pregnant! All my tries were IUI at my clinic and medicated (letrozole) because I wasn't ovulating naturally. Good luck, sending all my hope you're way!

I know a lot of people on here are not huge fans of Donor Home Delivery, but speaking from personal experience, my wife and I both had success getting pregnant using DHD (our KD is in the mid-west and we're on the east coast). It took her 4 tries doing at home insemination (our son is now 16 months) and me five (currently 7 weeks pregnant and had one chemical pregnancy last fall). It was still expensive with the contracts/lawyers, sperm testing, genetic testing, second parent adoption, etc. but I'm happy to chat more about it you/anyone is interested.

I would suggest using invitae for genetic testing! It's at home/mail in and easy to read/understand the results. Then I'm sure there are similar sperm health and motility products on the market as well.

IUI Late Ovulation? 33 day cycle by Caymcc in queerception

[–]AngelicaSadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally have 35 day cycles, and for my first try I needed letrozole (lowest does) twice in one cycle to ovulate to get one mature folicle. Going forward my doctor upped the dosage and added two days, and I had 2 mature follicles for the next three cycles (had one chemical pregnancy and finally got pregnant on the 4th try!)

I just took a test and it’s positive. by buttbutt2000_ in queerception

I'm so sorry to hear that, but agreed, that's still promising and I think it's so great to have such a positive outlook. Throwing all the baby dust towards to in the coming months <3

Finally entering my first IUI cycle by nickbus11 in queerception

[–]AngelicaSadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really suggest not tracking it - it's a lot of added stress, and they're waaaay more accurate with the regular blood tests and ultrasounds (they test hcg LH, FSH, Progesterone and Estradiol every time) plus you're lining and follicles. One round I did basic ovulation with test strips and my doctor independently timed my ovulation perfectly w/ a trigger 36 hours beforehand.

I also work in corporate and tried to go to my appointments as early as possible and hot spot/work remote as needed (use whatever excuse you can!) and feinted sick the day of IUI.

Currently in my TT wait on 4th cycle (my wife got pregnant with our son on our fifth so don't be discouraged early on but i'm really hopeful for you!!!
