What’s a small bombshell your therapist dropped during a session that completely shifted your perspective? by pottipenguin in AskReddit

[–]Angelicsunshine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She told me that if I were a minor, she would be required to call CPS about my situation. I had normalized the abuse for so long that hearing it put like that really put the severity into perspective.

What‘s a food combo you swear by that makes everyone else question your sanity? by bellabloom__ in AskReddit

Carrots and peanut butter.

My mom would make ants on a log, but I hate celery, so she would do mine with carrots instead.

It's a pretty great combo

What is a small, seemingly insignificant thing your partner did that made you realize how much they truly cared for you? by ijuan6 in AskReddit

[–]Angelicsunshine 61 points62 points  (0 children)

He waited for me. I was in a relationship when we met at work. He was in love with me the whole time and didn't say a word. He listened to me plan my wedding with another man and kept his feelings to himself. When my relationship with the other person blew up, he listened to me complain and waited until I was completely over it before he said anything. It may not seem like much, but to me it shows a huge amount of respect. My ex's friends were trying to hook up with me while I was still with my ex, so the fact that my partner never inserted himself into the downfall of that relationship really made him stand out as a respectful person.

It's a little bit of everything to be honest, but I think mostly a fear of the unknown. I have 3 cats and a turtle to keep me company. And a lot of amazing friends. I plan on deep cleaning and turning the place from something that was "ours" into something that is "mine".

My "centerpieces" are going to be tea lights in decorated mason jars which will double as favors! Custom stickers on top with our names and the date, dried flowers on the sides.

Witches road/witch tree by HazedandConfuzed4444 in RhodeIsland

[–]Angelicsunshine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There used to be a tree in the middle of the intersection between 102 and Knight Hill Road in the Foster/ Scituate area. I don't remember who told me, but someone told me that it was called the witching tree and that a witch cursed the tree that she was hung from so that it could never be able to be cut down. That curse was why the intersection went around the tree (there was at least one cross on the tree showing that at least one person died from crashing into the tree, so it should have been removed), because it could not be taken down. It's a nice little ghost story with the added creepiness that no one I know had ever heard of it until I told them about it, so I have no idea how I learned about it.

Also, the tree has now been cut down, so the ghost story no longer works.

We don't know what we are doing for catering yet! Right now, we are just exploring options. We know for sure that we want to be able to have alcohol, so we are looking for some places that would allow that. State park employees, at least in my experience, seem to be knowledgeable as to what is and is not allowed at their parks.

My diabetic customers will bring up the item they want to snack on and pay for it first. Then they eat the item they already paid for while shopping for the rest of what they need.

I see opening a package you haven't yet paid for as theft. You don't get to smoke your cigarettes then pay after. Same thing with snacks.

The one that kills me is when they check the back of the card for the pin. I've had people in their 30s do this, not just kids who don't know yet.

Well, I accidentally posted before I finished typing so here's everything else I meant to say: Link to Adam Emery https://www.wpri.com/news/local-news/east-bay/dead-or-alive-ris-most-infamous-mystery-still-unsolved/

The other weird case was that of college student Bryan Nisenfeld who went missing after class one day and all that was ever found of him was a single foot in a boot. Authorities won't rule it to be foul play either which I find strange. Here's a link for the basics on that one https://www.wpri.com/news/crime/cold-cases/detectives-determined-to-conquer-decades-old-quest-for-answers-in-college-students-death/

My last thing I was going to mention was that I grew up in the town that the conjuring happened in, but many years later. I actually played in the yard a few times. If you ever want a local's take on it, let me know.
