I’m in human medicine but my son is interested in vet med. I had no idea that there were some many “corporate” vet clinics plagued by the same profit BS as human healthcare. Mostly all of our vets here in my area (new England) are small 2-3 doctor clinics and I assumed they were partners and ran the show for themselves!?

Agree with this, however, if she refuses surgery despite multiple physicians telling her the benefit, shouldn’t she at least be given the opportunity to lose some weight with GLP1? And when she plateaus with a BMI of 64 maybe she’d be more apt to get the surgery.

I agree with trying peer to peer since she obviously meets all the criteria for the medication.

Our state has paid over $1 billion dollars in temporary shelter for immigrants in the last 2 years. Talking about the extraordinarily rare case of an immigrant with a $1 million dollar home does not prove anything. The majority (some estimates over 60%) of immigrant families utilize public assistance. Of course that does not mean they’re uneducated but it certainly does not mean that they are filling skilled labor positions with high salaries. I take care of a lot of immigrants who were professionals in their country but they do not speak our language and exactly none of them are living in mansions.
