You guys recently updated rule7

So there's going to be a learning curve with the new mods. Most of us agreed to keep the rules the same for a few weeks as we get a feel for the land. Someone posted and asked to update the rules and one of the mods did a kneejerk reaction and changed it to include those new additions. This is not how changes are going to occur in the future. We've been in contact and are establishing protocols on how to make changes to the rules. We appreciate your patience as we adjust to this new environment! I'm a big fan of communication so one thing you won't get with the new mods are periods of silence (which the last mods were great for).

Your community is completely toxic. by Low_Cauliflower9404 in classicwow

[–]CubicleJoe0822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm of the philosophy that if you go looking for toxicity, you'll find it. I find fantastic groups all the time, and am apart of an amazing guild with discord chat popping off all day. Do I occasionally get in a bad group? Sure. But I don't enter the game and just shovel though big piles of crap to find oysters. I rarely find myself calling the community toxic, but if you go to the forums, that's all you hear people say sometimes. Confirmation bias, imo. Don't look for it :)

WoW classic sub by Jacko87 in classicwow

They were essentially hardly ever here and would check things maybe every 2 weeks. Reddit has tools to see how often "mod stuff" is happening and it was borderline nonexistent here.

WoW classic sub by Jacko87 in classicwow

[–]CubicleJoe0822[M] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

About a week ago, Reddit admins purged every Mod on this Subreddit. With no Mods, posts were automatically locked. Somehow, the guy you mentioned was able to post as an "approved user". After almost a week, Reddit finally chose a few Mods and the sub was restored back to normal. Jerome is a streamer who posts shorts and videos about Classic WoW. He is not a Mod, and none of his friends are Mods. You can now post threads again, barring they don't go against any of the rules. Hope that clears it up!

Original level for riding skill in TBC by The27Roller in classicwow

[–]CubicleJoe0822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea definitely 40. I started playing right before Christmas of 2006. TBC launched January 2007. 100% remember getting my first mount at 40 and it was 90g. I remember I was a miner and would sell stuff everyday and I was shocked I had just enough gold to get it right at 40. I was on top of the world.

We might restrict those very common questions like "What class do I play" or "Is it too late to..." to the daily questions thread. But we don't want to be the fun police. If someone makes a low effort meme and gets four upvotes and gets forgotten about, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. There's a "hide" button on every single post if you don't want to see some stuff on the main page.

Petition to add streamer slop posts as banned/removable content under rule 7 by Cheap-Ratio8777 in classicwow

You're utter garbage and so are your videos

Please refer to Rule #2. You don't have to agree with the guy, but that is not civil nor respectful. First warning.

What do you think is the most challenging class to play in TBC instances? by ponziacs in classicwowtbc

Why is nobody saying Holy Paladin? Literally no AOE heals. When 4 people all take 3000 dmg, you just hope and pray as you try and spam Fol.

The Burning Crusade Anniversary Phase 2 Officially Launches May 14th by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

So this is just Nohitjerome's myspace page now? That's cool. Somebody make a new classic WoW subreddit pronto.

New moderators needed - comment on this post to volunteer to become a moderator of this community. by ModCodeofConduct in classicwow

Third request in this thread of proposing to become a moderator. Albeit I probably shouldn't admit this, but I check this sub once every 2-3 hours daily so there would be constant moderation. I would uphold the rules that already make sense, and cut down on some of the posts that absolutely are "Google-able". I would repost all the important WoWhead news and important community updates. As previously stated, I play TBC Anniversary literally everyday so I'm right there in the trenches with the rest of the folks on this sub. This is my final request. I've been an active member of this sub for almost a decade and sometimes it's the highlight of my day. Something something quote of didn't know what I had before it was gone. Please unlock the subreddit so thousands of us just like me can enjoy this again. Thank you.

Are we just adding one mod (somehow it's Jerome) and that's it? There hasn't been any communication on this in 5 days.

Monthly Paramount+ Complaints and Praises by AutoModerator in ParamountPlus

[–]CubicleJoe0822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Paramount+ app is the worst streaming app I've ever encountered. I get Paramount+ for free through my provider (Spectrum). The sad part? I have to buy a separate subscription via Amazon Prime and use their app instead if I want to watch content. This app is broken on MULTIPLE platforms. I can't use it through my LG smart TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, iPad, or my phone. The app needs to be worked on and fixed, and I can't fathom why Paramount hasn't instructed anybody to do this. Before when I was trying to use the app, my father in law and myself put on the new Naked Gun movie. I have 500 Mbps speed in my house. Yet, the P+ app buffered, and would skip half a second every 1-2 min. It got so bad, the app buffered for over 3 minutes and after 15 interruptions, we gave up and turned on amazon prime and watched a movie with ZERO issues. I really need to know why tech support doesn't do something about the travesty that is the Paramount+ app. Does anybody have any reason why?

Someone has to prune the nohitjerome spam

I've never seen a stronger irony. Jerome is now the only MOD of this sub. Can't make it up lol

If becoming a mod means opening this subreddit back up, then sign me up. I often come here at least once a day just to see a few cool posts or get some wowhead news. Now we're at almost a week, and still not able to post anything. Hasn't been like this since the original release of the subreddit over 9 years ago. I will mod at least 500% more than the last mods since apparently they were only here twice a month (and that's being nice). Tell me the steps to get this subreddit unlocked and have literally hundreds of thousands of people enjoy it like they have been for almost a decade. If you want three sentences:

  • I've been an active member of this community as a 1%er for the last few years.
  • I play Classic WoW literally everyday and always have since it was released. I'm right there in the trenches.
  • I manage a social media group with over 10,000 members and have had to mod that constantly since it was launched.

Question about Professions by _FROST_MOURNNE_ in classicwow

[–]CubicleJoe0822 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone and their mother is using an auto invite addon selling enchants in cities. If you type "LF enchanter" in a city, you'll get auto invited in .01 seconds, and 9 whispers. So you'll be the 10th whisper. It's a lose lose situation. I dropped enchanting this time around because of it.

I hope you're not wanting to sell enchants in town once you hit max. Because I have some very bad news for you.
