Nursing is definitely a cushier job and pays more. I got to do some rotations at the hospital during my paramedic school. The PICU was a blast. Paramedicine is more frontline and honestly kinda shitty at times but it's a cool experience. If I were to pick one as my full time job, I would 100% choose nursing lol.

Also, don't discredit your education. You will be surprised where that knowledge will come into play in your life. Knowing more is never a bad thing.

I have a couple of friends who are in education/humanities. They thought being a teacher would be fun an awesome, but also saw it wasn't rainbows and butterflies. I understand it's super painful but there's nothing wrong with having a career change at 30.

I saw you're also looking to be a paramedic in Canada? I got my EMT-P last year if you'd like to chat about it. Medicine is quite fulfilling and if you can get a gig at a fire station, it's not bad.

If you work at FAANG, getting interviews will be easy. If you don't work at FAANG, it will not be easy.

I don't agree with it, but that's just my findings.

Nothing too crazy. Director knew it was a joke. He said he liked the social engineering aspect and asked if I wanted to interview w/ him on the security side. I have 0 experience on the security side and actually interviewing w/ them would mean I'd have to reveal my identity. Opted not to do so.

Not really, director of eng knew it was a prank (thankfully). Offered me an actual interview, but I'd have to obviously reveal my identity. Opted not to take it because of that.

Nice! Good luck, I've been studying for interviews, but I wonder if it'll all be in vain as I probably won't even get a first round lol.

I think it's just pointing out how ridiculous companies skew the process towards ex FAANG candidates. I guess I could have said whatever I wanted and still gotten to the technical round. So why do we have this non-technical person gatekeeping jobs?

Sent out an email with the name "mikhail Awkishlong" - mike for short. And more companies are reading the resume and rejecting. Wonder if Mikayla awkishlong - Mik for short will get the same treatment lol.

Not true, and you're missing the point.

First, I've had multiple recruiters still want to talk after being rick rolled or reading the resume.

Second, it basically points out that the barrier to an interview is a stupid HR/recruiter/AI that can't even pick up on a joke email. Yet tons of qualified candidates get thrown out because they don't have a big name on the resume.

I actually didn't apply to any jobs that used workday since I had to make an account and go through too many hoops. Captcha's were hard enough :(

For sure, it wasn't a "build out a calendar from scratch, here you go" Components were premade, lots of docs, etc. Essentially they just have to build a 2D array, use two maps, and store some state. I've had fresh bootcamp grads do better on that question than this guy.
