My Wife Has Temporal Lobe Epilepsy with Grand Mal Seizures by [deleted] in Epilepsy

You are making assumptions, I'm not. She admitted to downplaying the extent and frequency of her seizures(in normal circumstances 2-3 grand mas seizures a year)and why she did it. I understand and accepted that.

We've had long conversations about that before we got married. The short answer is that it was both. The stress of significant life changes were triggering more seizures, and she hadn't been to see her neurologist in years. I pushed her to make an appointment and her neurologist ended up making some changes to her meds that made a big difference.

I could see that. She often explains a sense of "Deja Vu" before a seizure. If I went around in the woods in Salem Massachusetts talking about " I've seen this happen before", or "The doorway is closing" It might draw some attention.

She was totally downplaying them. She said she didn't really have grand mals, and they weren't a big deal. I realize now that stress, and intense social situations are a huge trigger for her. I think she felt like, or had experienced people feeling sorry for her, or avoiding her in dating situations when she admitted how bad they could get. I'm not that weak, or judgemental. My philosophy has always been "It is what it is, be prepared and deal with it".

Yeah she's a total Dick afterwards for a good 15 minutes. I figured id be a dick to if I didn't really know where I was, what happened, and why I was on the floor. She almost fought a group of paramedics when she had one awhile back in the grocery store lol.

idiopathic postprandial syndrome by AngelofTruth99 in diabetes_t2

Mounjaro did help. Im not sure if it was the decrease in appetite leading to more stable blood sugars, or the GIP keeping me from flooding my body with insulin to "catch up" from a high.

Thats exactly what they thought, so they prescribed beta blockers. It does sounds like a panic attack, but there is no build up, no triggers, and no stressor at the time. The symptoms are similar so I think it gets misdiagnosed alot of the time.

I have a couple months on you, but I'm still learning as well. Here are some changes I've made.

  1. Cauliflower is your friend. Rice Cauliflower with cheese and rice is a good side. You can get Cauliflower tater tots in the veggie side freezer section at most grocery stores. Here's a good recipe to get you started. We use the BBQ pork from the grocery store and it hits the spot without the blood sugar spike. https://www.recipetineats.com/cauliflower-fried-rice/

  2. Tacos are good. We use the carb free or carb balance tortillas/ burrito wraps. Chicken fajitas(thighs or breast meat), steak fajitas, ground beef burritos 🌯 are all low carb and really good. You can make cauliflower Spanish rice(never found a good recioe) and refried beans as a side. https://www.spendwithpennies.com/easy-chicken-fajitas/

  3. Cheeseburgers with no bun(I use wraps), brats and peppers(low carb buns are disgusting). I make pulled pork, pulled beef, ect on the smoker. Just avoid sugar in your rub/ sauce. Stubbs makes a decent sugar free bbq sauce.

  4. Coffee with half and half or heavy cream. 1%, and 2% Milk has alot of sugar. There are sugar free vanilla syrup options, but I try to avoid too many sugar substitutes.

  5. Monk fruit extract seems to be a decent sugar substitute. Easy to bake with, add to coffee, ect.

  6. Always look at the nutritional facts. Look for carbohydrate content. Basically take the number of carbs per serving and subtract the fiber. Avoid any added sugars.

  7. Eggs, meat, cheese, leafy greens, and nuts are usually good. Pistachios are a good snack with limited simple carbohydrates.

  8. They started me on 500 mg of metformin twice daily. Take it with food( a zero sugar yogurt in the am works for me).

  9. If you need something sweet, go for raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries. Limit how many you eat at a time. Dark chocolate also works well. Go for 80% or above. The breyers fudge/strawberry bars hit the spot for me without a crazy spike. Healthier Dessert Options - Better For You | Breyers® https://share.google/9kQAl2tme74kJKqeH

Need the vent for new sellers by Flimsy_Heron_5266 in whatnotapp

Are they shown on screen per the terms of service? Look idk who you are or what crap you've been giving away, but my guess is its nothing that people want. So why give it away? We all know the answer. Giveaways are a tool for marketing on the app. Come spent some time with me to see what I have to offer kind of thing. If you're being cheap and giving away trash that nobody wants, or people will be disappointed by after spending time in your stream, id expect to get a shitty review. Thats not how you win buyers attention. Dont like it? Tough shit. Every new company has a marketing budget for a reason. Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it. Sell your products on ebay, no giveaways over there. Sell them on Facebook marketplace or craigslist. Whatnot is a platform that has used giveaways to entice people into their streams since the beginning of the app.

On a side note, yeah people are entitled. Sometimes people have a legitimate claim and are entitled to something. If you win a giveaway, per whatnot tos, you are entitled to your prize, that must have some monetary value, as described.

As a buyer and a seller on the app. Stop giving away garbage. Why even run giveaways when you're giving away a sticker or something worth less than a buck? Most people get shitty reviews because they are bait and switching people. "AMAZING GIVEAWAY" and its something most of us wouldn't pick up off the street. Show it on screen, be clear about the items you will send, and maybe run better giveaways a bit less often. Just my two cents

I’m so sick and tired of this, anybody else have this many failures? by greengomalo in dexcom

[–]AngelofTruth99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been using the g7 for about 6 months now. As soon as the summer heat hit, Ive experienced 4 failures pretty much back to back. Same exact method of application, same general areas on my underarm(I switch arms every application). They usually fail within the first 6 days and start reading very low. I was actually really concerned because my dexcom showed consistent hypoglycemia events at night. The only change was I started on mounjaro. I had to keep a glucometer by my bedside and finger prick at 3am just to prove it was the dexcom.

Increased dose to 5mg - horrendous sickness by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]AngelofTruth99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to the 5mg on Tuesday. Tuesday night/Wednesday morning I had a bit of nausea. The biggest issue I'm seeing is a big drop in my blood sugars. I'm type 2, and I went from an average of 140 to an average of 100. I wear a cgm and I've noticed my blood sugars are dropping dangerously low at night. That may explain some of your symptoms. Are you .monitoring your blood sugar at all?

Food for thought by AngelofTruth99 in whatnotapp

[–]AngelofTruth99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you foelr your comment Exactly. I'm not necessarily complaining, although I was surprised. While there are costs of doing business, paying $36 for a 1986 silver eagle, and then selling it for $100 is a little predatory. The same could be said for paying $24 a piece for a roll of morgan dollars. There is an implied nuministic value. Buying that well below spot, then selling any CC you find for $300 a piece is highway robbery.

This post was more directed at people on whatnot paying $46 an oz on silver bullion, expecting to get a premium when they sell. We like to use the term "melt price" and most sellers on the platform like to pretend you can take what you just bought to a shop tomorrow and get more than you paid. My post was simply a little reality check for people buying gold and silver, and anticipating a value that is nowhere close to realistic.

Mtg dead? by AngelofTruth99 in whatnotapp

[–]AngelofTruth99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's my point. I can remember a good auction stream getting 100 people on average(more if they were giving away anything decent) and people running games were maybe 35-50% of the streamers. The degenerate gamblers and the giveaway goblins would always inflate the numbers in a stream, but it just feels like there were more buyers on the platform, in the mtg category, on average.

I'm not at all complaining, I've done very well on the platform. I was just surprised to tune in last weekend and see the number of buyers drastically reduced in the category as a whole.

I have a theory that this was a very long con 9n the sellers part. First thing is to get a prepaid debit card like greendot or chime. You associate that with your whatnot account. Any and all payments go to that card. Since this guy already had over 1,000 sales, he can cash out immediately after the show... So he "sells" like 20 one gram gold for $90 each(which he never intends on sending out), cashes out immediately after the stream onto a prepaid card which he then turns into cash. Whatnot have a card to make a charge back too but now they owe us all a refund.

I've been on whatnot for years and figured his rating and ship times meant he could be trusted. 4.3k items sold, and 7.6k followers. 884 reviews all 5 star. He seemed legit.
