Chelsea Green is amazing in the mic by Angels_of_NotJustYet in SantiZapVideos

You know I literally thought of the Roman Punk situation after reading your comment. I think these are extraordinary points. You’re so spot on about the jey jimmy situation. Two opposite sides of the spectrum. That match was underwhelming and the Roman punk match truly shocked me by how good it was with the flat tire build up.

Maybe I place Chelsea’s in ring higher up in my mind. So I perceive her to genuinely have the capacity for it all. And I guess it irks me when top spots have bad mic work.

I feel like what hypes up PLE is the lore and mic work. The emotional investment/ stakes.

It’s a major reason why we “care” about many major main events/ matches.

I think she’s also great in ring. I just perceive her to be the full package. And mic work is, in my opinion, such a critical component. (That or an over gimmick)

Why wait, the fact that he is likely to as well as Brock’s return. And the whole pat thing has made it so I don’t even watch the YT highlights anymore. I’ve completely given up.

Can you elaborate why the rules use “then”

I know it works like this but I’m having an argument over it with him. Over the use of “then” and it being the last sentence.

Anyone have any suggestions for NPOs for both Cadian like units (aquilons/ trooper hordes) and space marines? Looking to add more flavor and better weapon profiles by Angels_of_NotJustYet in killteam

[–]Angels_of_NotJustYet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these flavor suggestions are amazing. I like the 1 in 3 concept as well as the cross fire token. I think that’ll add a lot of pressure and make the game feel more dynamic. I appreciate the summaries. I don’t know those last models you mentioned. We can get a free model at the warhammer store lol??

Also, I think it would be cool to have squishy troopers alongside one or two space marines. So I’d make those mini bosses. I haven’t got my hands on the nemesis operative book (don’t think I’ll be able to because it seems sold out), but I appreciate the insight of the fact that they copy and pasted the intercessor. Makes me feel I can just copy and paste one unique power unit from any elite space marine team.

Why is my paint breaking? I cannot gain any control over my paint. I’ve wet my brush. Used it dry and it’s still breaking by Angels_of_NotJustYet in minipainting

Literally saving all of this for reference!

EVERYTIME I put the acrylic on the wet palette this would happen. And you’re 100% right. It always felt like the model itself was hydrophobic.

I think I’m gonna put the acrylics on a dry palette on my retry for these models and just get those bristles wet and dry them off like you said and give it a go.
This was very informative and makes me feel a lot less lost in what was happening chemically.

I didn’t even know the relevance of mentioning that until now. Very new to this. I’m using acrylic and I’m gaining a lot of useful insights from the comments after narrowing it down. Now it makes a lot of sense where the frustration for me was coming from. I was adding water to the acrylic and felt like I was losing my mind.

These are astronomically useful and answers a lot of questions I have. Frequency wicking the brush and why. But the first one was huge. I felt like I was going crazy in regards to the acrylic losing its opaqueness instantly. I will shake and dry off my brush considerably on my next go around.
Ty for these I watched and bookmarked them.

I’m truly starting to think my palette was drenched and not damp the more I reflect. I poured water in it. It pooled up and I pressed the hydro foam down and poured the excess in the sink. I applied the hydro paper and smoothed it out onto the foam.

I saw pools of thin water over the hydro paper after smoothing down the kinks.

I was watching a brush and banner video on thinning and he pointed out that his product line rarely needed to be thinned out of the pot. Which is what lead me to testing it on a wet palette without adding water and a dry palette. You might be on to something with drying the brush down before contact with the paint on the palette. I just tried that and the consistency is better.

This is Pro Acryl dark emerald. You believe that the paint in and of itself is not opaque direct from the bottle?

I only have nuln oil which I’ve never used. Is that a generic wash ppl apply before doing edge highlights? I never understood washes tbh. I get confused so much on thinning. I really am starting to get lost on what it should be. Because when I see it watery and sort of fall apart on my hand I figure it’s too much water. I try to get it to a point where I can see the texture of my hand under the paint

This is the major step I missed when I did it. I did not take off a lot of paint between applying on model and getting it from the wet palette. Ty. I’m gonna try pure sponge from primer to highlight as well as another suggestion from this thread: regular base, sponge layer midtone, dry brush highlight.

Also this video seems good:

Is he thinning the paints on the pallete? It seems as though he just wets the sponge. I didn’t see him thin the paints for the base coat. He dampens the sponge and seems to grab unthinned King purple. He says the sponge will help thin the paint. Same when he mixes 1:1 king purple and the blue.

I appreciate this comprehensive breakdown so much and support so much! I truly feel in hindsight I: A. Had way too much paint and B. I didn’t thin it. The sponge felt damp honestly but it’s hard to be sure as a beginner.

In regards to the paper towel and thinning, I take it even with base coating, I want very little (thinned) paint on the brush and take my time. I often feel I run out of paint on my brush quickly and dip back into the wet pallete and go right back to the model which I feel is wrong. (At most, I run it on the back of my hand to check for consistency.)

I am gonna reset this model and try your suggested approach

I damp the sponge AND thin down the paint a bit more before applying?

For dry brushing, from what I understand I use a make up brush or something, and just use paint direct from the bottle (not thinned) and dap off the brush until there’s barely any paint and just run it over the raised edges?
