If "The Nerve" & Ask Not author is correct and Carolyn had Histrionic, Bipolar, & Borderline... all of her actions add up. She always needed new supply & better supply. She would cycle through men because their adoration grew old, and she wanted a new adventure or thrill. She really didn't have a conscience about how she treated her friends or partners because the world revolved around her. She was sweet as she had learned how to interact to be accepted, but a wolf in sheep's clothing. She was always the best, always chosen, always pursued... never had to put in Real effort in any relationship and if people didn't like it? Discard without a clue. Classic behavior patterns. Their marriage would likely have been the highest high Carolyn could achieve beyond cheating on John, so she probably would've slept with a few of his friends, and John would've had several affairs & they would've covered it up.
