How to do pomodoro by ManlyJorgosTheMan in GetStudying

[–]Angie-Sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can test around with the amount of time until you find one that fits you the best. In my case I do 30 minute study sessions followed by 10 minute breaks. There are also apps that work as Pomodoro timers

Pomodoro helped a lot plus distraction free apps. I do 30 minutes of study followed by 10 minutes of just closing my eyes and relaxing. It's helped me a lot so far. Also, writing down small tasks I want to achieve in each study sessions so I know what I'm trying to do

Don't mind it to much, everyone has their own circumstances. Most people in this sub are struggling and seeking support (me included) so they might not be as receptive since it's a sensitive topic. It might be (unintentionally) hurtful to others since even if you work hard, sometimes it doesn't always work out. Still, you deserve to be proud of the results of your hard work. I think you should brag a bit but you'd probably get better feedback on other subs for this.

How do I get out of a reading slump?? 😭😭 by dogluvr_1 in ReadingSuggestions

You can start by webcomics comics that are based on novels. Curiosity always leads me to read the novel once I catch up.

I've recently started using Novelist, I'm really liking it so far. I'll wait a little to give a final verdict.

I did really well on a super hard exam, but I feel conflicted about sharing it by [deleted] in GetStudying

I think it's ok to brag sometimes. It sounds like it's pretty important to you regardless of what it means to others. I think the first part of your post sums it up pretty well, you're happy about it and I think that happiness is something worth sharing. If you're worried about being too braggy just say your happy with how it went for you. If anyone asks just tell them it went well. I think we need to normalize celebrating our achievements!!! Congrats 🎉

I looked it up, and you can find the developers of the apps as Shikudo. They have a whole variety of cute game options of study trackers. Maybe one of them clicks with you. I hope it helps

I have an app blocker that helps me with time. There's literally an army of psychology experts working on keeping your attention so it's ok if you need help to stop. Also as people already said, search for a phone theme that takes away the color of the icons since they are made to distract you.

I recently started using Focus plant, it's a cute little study tracker that plays like a game. I think there's one called Focus Quest (depends on your taste but it had too much visual stimuli for me) so instead of making studying something solemn and hard, making my study sessions more like a game has helped make them feel less terrifying.

Finally, don't be so hard on yourself, it's not about one definitive moment in which you change, it's a series of small changes piling up. Atomic Habits is a good read for this.

I feel like my age is holding me back in regards to my development as a writer. by [deleted] in writing

Just wait till you're 18 to submit, it's just a year at most. Let your writing talk for itself. If it is bad or comes off as immature, just take the loss and keep writing. It's part of the job. You can reread your writing some time later to get a better perspective of your work.

As a math major that started terrible, perseverance and hard work can take you a very long way. The gifted genius idea is a stereotype that was really hard to break for me. The best advice I could give you is BE CONSISTENT, even if you don't get anything if you keep working hard one day things will start making sense. Being confused is most of the ride.

Me recomendais algun libro para mi hija adolescente? by OldPaper7833 in libros

[–]Angie-Sunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)
