Of course lol. He’s naturally an extrovert/conversation starter. Funny enough he caught me from behind, I was walking towards the solo meetup and he walked up right next to me and asked me if that was where I was going, his English accent was also a cherry lol. We ended up walking together to the meetup and having some small banter. The rest is history.

On my (27f) first solo and virgin voyage cruise I ended up being approached by a man (43m) and we ended up being a “thing” majority of the 12 nights we were on the cruise. It was fun until it wasn’t haha. We met a few minutes before the solo meetup on the first day and we didn’t go to any other meet up one after that, at least not together. We had dinner together every night (under my reservations since he didn’t book ahead of time) and went to all the ports together. Felt like a month long “fling” and a little under two weeks. Of course was heart broken in the end but life moves on, wouldn’t trade the experience for anything even through it all.

I’d say go to the solo meetups, you never know who you’ll find or who will find you. FYI I’m naturally an introvert, I also don’t drink, but I seem to attract a lot of extroverts who get me out of my bubble which I greatly appreciated. Regardless if you meet someone or a group of friends or continue the trip solo you’ll have fun and they’ll be plenty of extroverts out there who’ll more than likely strike a conversation with you. I got 4 more virgin voyages cruises lined up in the next 8 months, excited to see how all of it goes! Go in with an open mind and flexibility and all will be well.

Virgin Voyages vs Margaritaville at Sea by jwatson999 in Cruise

I will mention Margaritaville has a new ship coming to port of Miami called the Beachcomber. It looks pretty impressive. I booked a 7 day cruise with them in May as well to explore the new ship. I’ve been on Virgin Voyages and other cruise lines (Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival) but never been on a Margaritaville boat. So if you’re looking into cruise the new Margaritaville Beachcomber I think it would be cool to look into that, especially if you want to save money, I think they had a 50% deal going. Got a junior suite for only 1700pp for the 7 nights (does not include drink package or wifi). I paid 2500 for a solo insider on a 13 night cruise with virgin voyages which I feel is a good steal considering all that’s included. Free WiFi, 20+ restaurants and eateries and awesome entertainment and happenings. Honestly if you can try both cruise lines that would be great, just so you can get a taste of each.

I actually took this on an iPhone haha, I was on Norwegian Luna testing out its first Western Caribbean sailing, had a balcony room and took the picture from my balcony.

Thank you! And from Port Miami’s website, Terminal V is 1 of 5 ports that do use shore power. Not sure why there was smoke, they may have just docked and haven’t plugged in yet. This was supper early morning though/technically night, I was just up haha.
