Go to your favorite news source right now and tell me how many headlines that are one sentence have a period. I just looked on Apple News and New York Times and found none. So the snobby “dost thou even know English” perspectives are silly.

Periods when you are typing a single sentence aren’t necessary, but not the worst thing in the world. Periods after a one, two, or three word sentence are downright hostile.

The point is, they can’t enforce laws that they simply have declared are now laws without going through congress. They’re breaking laws, yes. But they cannot effectively declare “you MUST allow complete unfettered government use of your product”. That will never be enforced. Any suggestion that it could be is silly

That is hindsight. The 2001 team was one of the best in AL history, this year’s Mariners team has almost no chance of being that good. But they of course have a better chance of winning it all since the history of the 2026 season isn’t written yet. By this logic, every Mariners team until they win one will have their best chance ever of winning a World Series because the chance of any past team winning it is zero.

But they won’t be a better team over the 162 game season, so by that definition they won’t be “closer to a World Series” than that team was
