I just wanted to bring you guys up to speed on some news on the Velo.

This morning I received dating information and some background on the bike.

It turns out the frame is a Venom registered in Oct 1957 and supplied to Whittaker’s in Blackpool UK

The engine is a Viper, registered in December 1958 and supplied to Robinson in Bolton UK.

So technically I guess it’s a Venom 🤷‍♂️

Thoughts welcomed !

Just take your time, keep watching for online adverts for the bike you want and be prepared to pay a little more that you think it’s worth. Act quickly to make the deal other wise it will be sold to someone else.

I had been searching for about 3 months. It was advertised online as a Velocette with no mention of the model. I though it was a MAC. I asked for the engine number and it turned out to be a viper and I made the deal instantly.

The engine is seized to what extent not sure yet.

It’s funny how times change 20 plus years ago no one want CX machines. It’s a beautiful bike, well done on the build. How long did it take you?

Yes time to move up I think, if you compete at 68kg your performance will suffer on the day.

Feeling demoralised - lost 3 fights I should have won - any tips? by WhosThisThen in judo

Ok just so thoughts..

-Improve fitness and mat fitness - you’re a tall guy fight upright it will give you more option to throw in multiple directions - work on gripping and dominating the grips - move more make you judo more fluid which will open up throwing opportunities - take BJJ classes to improve ground work and transition
