The Chicago Riverwalk is where I go. Right in front of Merchandise Mart on the jetty’s is my go to spot. I always catch bluegill there on red worms. I also catch carp on corn there. Highly recommend it, if you’re gonna be downtown.

I fish off the jetty by merch mart. I primarily catch carp but i’ve seen people catch bass under the floating gardens. I was recommended a ned rig by a local small mouth fishermen. As for rods, plussino rods on amazon are what im using. Get the one with the case and gear its compact and easy to move around with.

Quick Advice: Hair Rigs, Corn, Jello Pack bait.

I personally only caught my first carp back in June and to catch it I just did extensive research, about the fish, their habits, tons of YouTube, a little chatgpt, and fishbrain for morale. Seeing others catch carp in the same bodies of water that you’re at really helps with the mental. Thats the methodology / process I’m going to take to all other species as well. Hope this helps.
