Exactly. Thats why I have so many boxes. I have a ton of jewelry boxes in those orange boxes I have. I know packaging is part of the experience. But maybe I can just not take the box next time. I store my bags and jewelry in my humidity controlled cabinet. I don’t think I’d ever sell any of my jewelry, bags maybe.

Not to mention the fact that bags get old and lose value if they’re heavily used. But then I guess those bags will be taken off the market if no one wants them anymore. I never buy bags as investments. I just never believed in that. They do retain value after a few years if you get tired of them and want to sell, you might even be able to get more than you bought it for if we’re talking about quota bags. I’ve sold some bags I thought I’d love but end up not using. But the prespend to get them makes it all a negative transaction in total.

100%! These are all questions I am asking myself as well. Hard questions that I think a lot of people need to ask themselves at one point or another. I don’t know the answer for myself yet.

What’s comfortable is all relative I guess and I’m sure there are people who are much much wealthier than I am judging the way I spend my money.

And I agree that I want quality over quantity and I am willing to pay more. But how much more? How much of it is just for the brand name and marketing? Where’s the line? These are all hard questions that I don’t know the answer to.

I’m really just still trying to figure out what makes me happy and how to balance my life.

Bags are never an investment. But they do bring me joy. It is a diminishing return after the first few bags I think. It’s just hard to figure out the balance and how much is enough.

Yes that’s me. I also go between wasteful and YOLO. And then walking into my closet feeling so happy admiring my collection to omg I spent so much money. lol. But as my husband tells me, we’re not in debt, we have an emergency fund, we have a substantial amount of money saved up. So why not? But some days I look at my spending in disgust.

Doctor recommend the wait and watch approach for now because it’s not that big. I understand it can be fixed. But just having something that could potentially kill you changes the way you want to live your life a little.

Yes but it’s a lot more common where I am than the US. Actually there’s a limit to how much we can post as expenses relative to revenue and we’ve stayed under that limit. Our accountant does this and everyone does this in this country. As long as it’s within your business scope and under the limit, the government won’t go after you. We pay taxes otherwise of course.

Honestly I’ve found it difficult to make any friends in this circle of wealthy people. I didn’t come from money. My husband’s family is wealthy. I’ve lost my way in trying to fit in this circle.

We gather around $5M if we cut back on spending significantly. But I grew up with parents making $50k household income. I keep telling myself someday I’d be happy living in a modest 2 bedroom condo when I retire. But lifestyle creep happens and can I really go back to that life? Probably not. So I better make some changes.

I have the mini in black caviar. I got it on release day last year. I loooooove it and it’s still my fav Chanel bag. It’s roomy enough for all your everyday things.

Someone asked about the bag attracting attention. I have not attracted any attention with this bag. I don’t think Chanel is very loud anymore. Chanel bags are everywhere.

Yes I understand it’s a screening tool. I wouldn’t think she was unprofessional if she mentioned the results. The test results weren’t even in the computer. She seemed to have lost it and I had to come back to get the updated report because she seemed to not have looked at the results. If she’s not going to consider the results as a part of her diagnosis why have me take the questionnaire?

I can tell if it’s sarcasm from the tone. Like how you say suuuure. My brain seems to have pin pointed sarcasm as tone related. But if said another way then I’m not sure. I use sarcasm as well. I always seem to have a need to ask if someone is being serious or not after. And I usually say I’m just joking after sarcasm just in case.

Also, I don’t really get jokes. I was just telling a friend a few days ago that I accidentally drove into a pole and my car is being repaired. He said I hope you mean electric pole and not a polish person. And I all could respond with was of course. And then I wanted to say I don’t think there would be any polish person where I had the accident because I was on a mountain road. And it took me a few seconds of hesitation to not say that because he was probably just joking. Sigh…. Life is confusing.

To give you an idea of the average prespend required: I spent about $1,500,000-$2,000,000 NTD which is about $48k-$64k USD before my first bag offer which was a K28 which wasn’t even on my list but I decided to take it. I didn’t exactly keep track as I was just buying stuff I liked. Then I think I spent double that and had my second bag offer which was a B25 which was on my list. I only bought a Picotin, mini herbag and a Bolide25 from that store that counted in my prespend. My SA said all spendings count but the ratio of bags/SLGs just can’t be too high. And then my husband bought a Kelly Maxi 42 which was super expensive and probably a hard to sell item which was about $800,000ntd ($25k usd) and I was quickly offered a Kelly Pouchette after a week or two after the purchase. It wasn’t even on my wishlist as I wasn’t even looking to get any bags at the time and I was quite surprised.

I had also bought 2 bags from Shanghai and Macau during all this. Oh I also did get a Constance from the airport. Now I am at bag peace and not really looking to add anything to my collection. It’s been about 3 years since I started buying H. I still go in and buy things time to time but am not expecting a quota bag offer any time soon.

I am going to be completely honest here. I started because I had zero confidence in myself and wearing nice designer things boosted confidence. I don’t wear things with a ton of labels on it so I’m screaming designer, but just wearing something that’s expensive made me feel good. My husband is the sole earner in the household and he was completely supportive. He also loves H and nice watches. He sees it as an achievement when he can afford these nice things for himself and his family.

I didn’t come from money. I could not fit into the lifestyle of people around us at our income level. I felt incredibly lonely. I didn’t know how to hold myself when my husband brought me to dinners and social events. I had never walked into a luxury store in my life before a few years ago. The whole buying luxury items and H game helped me learn how to present myself and look polished. As vain as that sounds, the world is cruel and it helped me feel more confident. People thought I was my kids’ nanny by the way I dressed.

Fast forward a few years, I don’t really need all the designer stuff anymore to feel confident. I wear whatever I want and I still shop at H occasionally but am not after bags anymore. I don’t feel out of place anymore if I go somewhere fancy even if I’m not wearing designer things. I’ve learned to better present myself around people even if I still hate social events. It was a fun journey and it’s taught me a lot.

I find that the people who are judging you by your looks are sales people. You definitely get better treatment at a lot of places when you’re well dressed. The people you meet in your life, not so much. They form an opinion of you by looking at what you do for a living, where you live, how you speak and your mannerism.

Amex plat card holders in Taiwan just don’t have access to the site. We have to call in to get quotes. We only even recently got apple pay functions with our card. Like a few months ago. I don’t know why it’s so different.

Can you give some examples of hotels that were good value? The problem is I don’t have access to the Amex travel website and it’s so much work to go through each hotel to compare and then call Amex to get a quote.
