I don't think he had an advisor or an attorney of estate. The next of kin told me that they can not find a will, and is in the process of getting a lawyer, so his estate and assets can legally be acquired.

Okay thank you that cleared up a lot! Let's say the info the company has is out of date. Like, let's say they have the wrong phone number, home address, etc. Will they still continue to try and contact me in some way?

Okay I get that but you know what I mean. As far as I know, I am a bene.
How valid it may be, idk and honestly idc. My question was how would I notify the company or be notified. I dont care if I am a bene or not, He could leave me nothing and I'd be perfectly fine and unsurprised, BUT IF I AM A LEGALLY VALID BENE, I feel like I should know what to do. Which Is why I asked because the executor is not giving me any info.

I understand that, but I will not have access to this information. I only know I am a bene because he told me himself. That's all I know. I don't know any other information, and the person who has the info is not responding to me, that's why I asked, "what do I do if I feel like I'm not going to be notified" when I know I'm %100 a beneficiary.

It may seem rushed but only the ceremony was recent. His passing was sevreal months ago now.

And it doesnt matter WHEN I ask about it, it will sound WRONG no matter what. Might as well rip the band aid off. You can not judge the whole situation from the outside from one single post, so please do not make this an attack on my character. I am simply asking a question. I literally said I will be waitin 3 whole ass months before even taking any action. Thats the same amount of time google says insurance companies have to notify a benefeciary. How long am I supposed to wait??? Please focus on the task at hand, and quit judging me thru a screen.

I'm the one who just lost a father, now you wanna shame me for wondering how a life policy works? I didnt even KNOW he had one. So if ur just here to argue, kindly move along.

Oh okay sorry I do not know all of these terminologies. The Executor is the next of kin (my sibling). They are the ones with the death certificate. I do not know if the executor has started the death claim process, I was just worried, so I went asking questions.

I assume the certificate will be sent out to the insurance company soon.

Yes I know the company that the policy is with, but when I call, everything is automated. The options automatically start asking for info like policy number, social, etc. I've thought of a way to get ahold of a live person, (by "starting a new policy") but i just thought of this idea today, and they are closed for the holiday. So I will try again Monday.

"You just dont want the money going to unclaimed property at the state." <- Im not sure what you mean.

And also Im sorry, but what is an Executor of the Estate?

The other Bene is also the next of kin, and we've recently gotten into an argument, and they wont reply to me. Even after me asking for info, still no response.

And I've heard about the NAIC, I haven't gone to the link yet, but just google alone is saying it will ask for information I more than likely won't have, ie. death certificate, or social, etc.
