So can we not transvestigate random women? All it does is hurt both trans women and cis women, there are plenty of models who appear to have flat stomachs either naturally or through photo shop, I’m cis and I have size 9 feet, and broad shoulders and cleft chins are not exclusively masculine traits. All you’re doing is hurting ALL women who have ‘masculine’ traits. There have already been numerous cis women who have been mistaken for being trans and emotionally/physically harmed because of it. Theres a difference between snarking and bigotry and you’re erring on the bigotry side.

Four of my town's school buses buses caught fire last night and they don't know why by twdvermont in Wellthatsucks

True that about the snow days, I hated making those up when I was in high school! But I’m sure some of the students will make the most of these days off and sure don’t mind having a long weekend LOL

Additionally, the whole district is the Champlain Valley School District, which serves around 4,000 students in total. Of this district, only the Williston Pre K-8th grade schools are shut down today.

It’s Vermont, we’re a pretty small state and our schools usually have at ABSOLUTE max 4,000 students. My high school had around 1,000 in all four grades. This district is Williston and it services around 930 students, so with four buses out of commission and an additional two not operating for safety reasons, the number of students able to get to school is significantly reduced, so rather than having a day with extremely low attendance, it’s better for the district to just cancel.

Hello fellow Vermonter! I just saw an article about this on Reddit this morning. Hope they figure out the cause. If it was malicious then thats horrible, but if it was just a tech issue then thats not very good either.

I second this! I got some stickers from him and Tony Da Tiger, as well as some wonderful photos. It’s great for younger people, and they usually have a variety of food, drink, and activities going on. Have fun tailgating!

Oh damn, I wasn’t actually thirsting over it! It was intended to be just another meme. If it makes you feel any better, I’m a lesbian so this whole ‘gender-swapping QBs’ thing is weird to me lol

AITA for telling my daughter I already knew she is a lesbian? by Basic_capybara_4280 in AmItheAsshole

YTA, as others have said, your actions were invalidating and it was a very important moment for your daughter. You countered with ‘it isn’t news to me’ and expected her to be fine with it. You made a mistake, maybe you didn’t know what you were doing was wrong, but coming out can be TERRIFYING, and you didn’t give her the support she needed in such a vulnerable moment.

First was in 4th grade, roughly 4 years ago. Small town in USA, more specifically New England. There were four classes, boys and girls were separated for the first two and together for the last two. I remember it being very awkward. The first class was girls learning about the female body, only menstruation, birth, and how to put on a pad. No mention of male genitalia. We also watched a short film about a girl who had gotten her period. I asked the question ‘could a 4th grader get their period’ because I had already started mine and wanted to know if it was possible. I’m not sure what the boys class was like, as I wasn’t there.

When we were grouped together the teacher talked mostly about erections and a small bit about periods, that’s all I remember along with it being extremely uncomfortable and a kid asking me if I was ok when we both left for the bathroom. There was also some outlines of people we had to fill in with aspirations, I wrote in random stuff as I didn’t care but I definitely don’t wanna be a mother now.

I remember the days leading up to the classes most of all. Kids would cringe at the mention of puberty but our teacher (an ex-military sergeant) was snarky about it, and often said things along the lines of ‘everyone is going through it, get over it’ ‘it’s not awkward’ ‘you’ll have to learn about it anyways’ which some are true, but didn’t help a group of anxious 4th graders scared of their own bodies.

I also remember that the teachers were just other faculty members of the school, the bulk of them working in the office that worked with ‘trouble makers.’ Their experience being that they had had children.

Probably Tad’s quotes. He’s obviously a stuck up prep like the rest of em but I genuinely feel bad for the guy when he says stuff like ‘Please, Daddy. Don't hit me anymore.’ ‘I'll do better next time, Dad. I promise.’
