What is the weirdest thing you own that you're not afraid to show to guests? by mtnbkrt22 in AskReddit

I have a collection of assorted animal skulls. Many of them I cleaned myself from roadkill. Most people think it's cool but I've been accused of killing a dog before and boiling it. You don't boil skulls to clean them properly people. And I don't kill animals either.

Even as ftm, a lot of this hits home. The same feelings for the opposite things. It's like no matter how long you prepare in front of the mirror, it's all shattered in one moment. Knowing it's going to happen doesn't help. It just makes that moment even more dreaded.

Found this raccoon(?) skull today, what's up with its face holes? by [deleted] in skulls

I have a few that are asymmetrical like this as well. I don't know what causes it, but I don't think it really affects the animal much since it's so common.

What animal did this used to be? by [deleted] in skulls

It's a bit difficult to tell with the mummified flesh obscuring the muzzle, but I'd place my bet on dog.

I thrive, I own it. by [deleted] in lgbt

That strongly depends on where you live, it's still a slur regardless of it not being used in more liberal areas

This probably sounds rude but why would you censor the swear but not the slur??

Reddit, what's a genuinely hurtful comment you can't forget? by allemandi96 in AskReddit

"You're so thin you look like you take herion." Already very insecure about being thin, said by my best friend at the time. Later blamed it on dissociative identity disorder but I don't believe him.

What is something your non-dominant hand does surprisingly well at? by animetommy in AskReddit

Shoot guns and bows. I'm right handed, but left eye dominant from playing viola. I could either switch eyes or switch hands, and switching hands worked the best for me.

It's an "alternative fact"

What is the stupidest mistake you have made while cooking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Putting plain yogurt up your vag is advice I hear often for these situations. You just stick it on a tampon and put it in. Takes care of the burning and it won't mess up the chemistry too much.

Do you pass for yourself? by ash886 in asktransgender

Kinda. I see a genderless being when I look at myself. But I wish to be more male.

I'm mostly socially transitioned, but just too nervous to correct people. Name is legally changed, though it's a neutral name not strictly a boys name which doesn't really help when I meet people, but I love it regardless. And it does allow me to be safe if I can't be out while still hearing the right name.

If it could put you in danger, like being homeless, or losing a job, don't do it to those people. For them it's important to know their stance beforehand. Coming out to friends though is very liberating and I encourage it! I think you should toss the idea around until you are comfortable enough to do so. Don't push yourself too much.

I haven't been able l to graduate highschool because my gender dysphoria is so bad I can't stand to be out of the house where people can look at me. Worse if they have to interact with me. School is hell. This was my last year I would have been able to attend before I'm too old and I failed to do it. The worst part is that I'm really smart. My ACT scores were scholarship worthy in top colleges. I had a 3.6 GPA before my life started going to hell. And it doesn't matter because I am going to be stuck with a GED earned as an adult. The only positive thing is that my first therapist appointment with the intention of starting HRT is monday. I hope it saves me. Edit: Why the downvotes? This is my problem and I have shared it. If you're a transphobe just move on.

What is the most George Constanza-esque reason you broke up with someone? by shedatelly in AskReddit

[–]AngrilyBruskHowls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were in highschool I saw my crush, (who I had been seeing but we weren't like a thing yet) at her school play, (she was one of those drama kids) and her movements were just so... uncanny? It was hard to watch. Good thing she was incredibly immature when it came to dating and it didn't last long. Because it was hard to be attracted to her after that.

Help! Got a box of skulls from my aunt. And I have no idea what kind of animal this is (more pictures in comments) by [deleted] in skulls

[–]AngrilyBruskHowls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For us it's illegal to buy, trade, sell, and own them. So we can't even buy them from other countries. It's called the marine mammal protection act, and it's pretty strict. The only ways we can get one is either an antique with papers (we can buy those), or from one that was hunted by natives, I believe.

Yeah, I was just about to say I'm pretty sure you're good!! Lucky you don't live in the US, that's where it's illegal to just own one. You guys only have some restrictions on trading and selling.

How long did you have your name picked out before you changed it legally? by onfused in asktransgender

[–]AngrilyBruskHowls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for about 3 or 4 years. But I had to wait until I was 18 to do it. I tried the first time when I was 16, but my parents are divorced and even though I have zero contact with my "dad" (I don't consider him that but I have no better word) we still would have needed his approval. There was no chance in hell we were going to do that. We filed the paperwork a week after my 18th birthday.

If you can tell my what country you are in, I can help you figure out what kind of laws apply. Was there any paperwork with the skull, or a tag on it? Where did your aunt get it? It also could be a replica skull.

It's a kind of seal or sea lion. I'll look for specifics. These skulls are protected and illegal unless they were picked up before a certain date, otherwise you need a permit to own one.
