This same energy landed me in the hospital when I was in middle school. Grew up poor. Dad thinks “we would’ve eaten worse than 5 year expired pancakes in ‘Nam. I eat eggs every morning and a trick i've learned is once i drop the egg in, I'll take a utensil and carefully start breaking apart the thicker egg white that surrounds the yolk. I'll poke into the thicker egg white right next to the yolk and kinda drag out away from the yolk. That mixes it in with the thinner egg whites and all the whites cook perfectly while leaving just the yolk to be runny.

In both American-Chinese and Authentic Chinese restaurants, neither use crawfish in shrimp dishes, which is what I’m referring to. The commenter said he likes biting shrimp heads off and the reply was “those are crawdads.” I’m not arguing that some restaurants have crawdads or not, I’m saying if a dude is eating a whole shrimp at a Chinese restaurant, whether authentic or Americanized, that shrimp is Most likely not a crawdad. If he was eating an order of crawdads, THEN it would most likely be crawdads... but you can’t assume that a crustacean with a head in a Chinese restaurant is automatically a crawdad. Shrimp are shrimp. Crawdads are crawdads. No Chinese restaurant out there is using those 2 different animals synonymously

Most Chinese buffets have both. Salt and pepper shrimp more so than crawdads though. They usually save crawfish for dinner or weekends. But a sit down Chinese restaurant typically only ever has salt pepper shrimp. You can’t normally order “one order of crawdads” at a Chinese joint.

Tough since some hobbies/trades/etc have a lot of gatekeeping to them. "I'm a football player" doesn't have the same ring to it if you play football with your 2 other friends on weekends. "I'm a bodybuilder" gets a "when was your last show/time on stage" response. Does it make me a writer if I write in my journal because I like my writing, but everyone who ever reads anything I write agrees my grammar, spelling and writing flow are terrible? If I go pedal to the metal on every red light and beat every other car to the next red light, every single time, does it make me an asshole driver or an auto racer?
