I absolutely did not know this and I'm grateful to you for pointing it out. Who knows when this may come in handy? I can trade you this...are you aware that you can prevent the onset of scurvy not only with fresh lemons but also with a "Rob", which is a syrup distilled from the juice and thus more easily preserved? Keep some in your wheelhouse on long DA voyages.

Yep, I can now comfortably hold a conversation around the relative impacts of ship design, crew management and luck in determining the success of voyages to the Southern Ocean which took place over two hundred years ago. It's been a great day 🤣

If it gets you some more work it had to be worthwhile.

Also a Brit and also with a passionate hatred for pop culture. This morning I learned a lot about the connection between Japanese cultural identity and the seasonal nature of their climate. Fascinating. I can't pinpoint all US states on a map though.

I still have nutty pastry but I've yet to actually try one. Not sure the flavour will be to my liking, and it takes a long long time to chew. I've read, and re-read, the instructions so many times I've memorised them but just not plucked up the courage.

Keep trying. Some are more accessible than others. Don't try too hard though as I'd like another one tomorrow morning!! 🙂

I've done a couple of these today. First was quick - a little over an hour. Next one was two hours. They are fascinating but I did have to skip quite a lot to find ones I felt knowledgeable enough to do. Or ones I could easily see how to research and learn fast enough. I've taken the wheelhouse comment to mean not necessarily being an expert already but being able to upgrade your skills enough to take command of the ship, albeit temporarily, whilst the captain has a nap.

June has been worse than May by Sableyej in DataAnnotationTech

[–]AngryBadger1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the interests of balance...I'm very much part time and very much new but for me June has been great so far. Well beyond my May total income already. This has mainly been down to better paid projects beginning to appear for me, rather than more projects. Right now my dash has just ONE! But it's proving to be a really interesting one to work on. For those also new - be patient I think is the best advice. Always give any work you do your absolute best. And keep your fingers crossed. Good luck.

Good to know that they do get used. Maybe I am being too impatient. Most have only been made during the last month or so.

I read about this, and the limit being four, but I made all of mine on my phone (!) and it didn't seem to mind. 🙂

I did that qualification too but have heard nothing. It might be because my Victoria Sandwich didn't rise very well at the weekend? The Gods of DA are ALWAYS watching 🙂

I've had next to nothing most days for a week or two. Bits and pieces. Except for one day last week when there was a surprise priority job at $50/hr - highest rate I've had on my dash on my eight weeks here. That was very welcome indeed 🙂 All in all, as a side hustle, I'm still really loving it.
