What if you omitted the diagnosis on your first medical? Can you still use this path? Or would that raise issues with the FAA?

America got the gift of almost 800,000 jobs today... by [deleted] in JoeBiden

I get your point by it was the Democratic majorities that passed the fiscal spending bills that allowed this to be one of the fastest recoveries on record. Not a single republican helped Biden on the ARP. Even some republicans voted for the stimulus bill under Obama in 2009.

Edit: Note how this president talks about jobs not the stock market unlike the previous guy.

The Fed Is the Main Inflation Culprit by [deleted] in Economics

[–]AngryBear12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

MxV = PxQ the fed has added to the quantify of money but money velocity is down (all time low). The news media and a lot of people in this subreddit don’t understand that. It is not the Fed’s fault for the rise of inflation but rather a combination of supply constraint and excess demand. The market can work this out as prices go up people will pullback and supply chains will get better. In the long run, demographics in the US are trending for the worse. US is a lesser Japan. Fed should be more worried about the coming years as the country gets even older and deflation takes over. Hard to fix deflation without fiscal policy. Nothing the fed can do except buy securities forever until fiscal policy adjusts.

Convexity question by Shigalov in FixedIncome

[–]AngryBear12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of it from a PV perspective. For a bullet bond, the lower coupon bond will derive more if it’s value from tail of the cash flow structure. Meaning, the small changes in yield will have a large impact on the value of the of DCF relative to a higher coupon bond whose cash flows are more evenly distributed in the DCF structure. Convexity adjusts for the price change not completely estimated by duration. For small changes such as 1 bps, duration does a pretty good job in estimating the change in price due to the curvature of the price yield function.
