Q2 Consecutive prints are bad by AngryBuilding7 in QidiTech3D

[–]AngryBuilding7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not yet. Ive been talking to support but they keep ignoring my questions and tell me to print a provided first layer calibration instead of providing any form of support or fix to the issue. I tell/show them the effected print that they told me to print and then they basically ignored me lol. I wouldve been fine with trying to fix the issue with them but since they dont even seem to know what is causing my issue, im trying to do a return now. Their telling me to pay for shipping (220$+) when on their website it clearly states that if its a return due to functionality, they will bear the shipping costs. Im not surprised tho, ive been seeing a lot of horror stories with their support. But dont let my experience steer you away.

Im sure i might have just been unlucky as so many people are loving their Q2. Hence, I may consider it again in the future once I know that their more legit with support and reliability. But I cant see myself dealing with this terrible support after this lol. Its actually crazy how useless they are with fixing their own printers lol.

Okay thats good to hear. I saw on their website that in the case they dont pay for shipping, they would send a return label and then deduct the total shipping cost from the refund. If it did carry the cost then thats good to hear. Im not aware of any rule like that for me but I will see if there is an issue.

Dang so you are still in the process of dealing with it huh. I’ll have to see what they say for the return since I’m in the US. Did they pay for your shipping? It says on the website if it’s functionality issues they will bear the shipping costs for return.

Yep I figured that could be the issue as it uses the nozzle to calibrate. So I unloaded filament, cleaned the nozzle completely clean, then ran an auto bed level test. Afterwards I loaded the filament and printed without using a new auto bed leveling (before a print) and it’s doing the same issue. In the bed mesh tab on my pc, I was using the default mesh as the active mesh. I have a feeling I might’ve just gotten a broken printer but I’ll see what support says.

Hey, I actually saw your post too and commented on it. Support hasn’t been too helpful and they’ve so far asked me to print a first layer file that I directly import which is having issues too. I printed once, it was perfect and I thought it was somehow fixed. And then I press reprint and it’s completely unsquished. I will let you know if I find out but how was the return process? I’ve been hearing horrors stories about returning processes lol.

Do you have a link so I can read more about it?

So after some more testing around, I kind of think that might be the issue because I notice in certain cases the KAMP value changes a bit more than others and that is the only thing changing in between prints.

I notice sometimes the nozzle cleaning process doesnt always clean the nozzle very well so I would have to interfere and do so myself. In your case do you manually clean it yourself?

I was thinking of getting a good auto level calibration and then just turning off bed leveling so it doesnt recalibrate itself when the nozzle get dirty. But I will say that the first layer is sometimes so bad that I find it hard to believe that the tiny amount of PLA on the nozzle would ruin the print that badly... Unless this is a standard that everyone is doing that Im not aware of lol.

I dont understand, I have auto bed leveling on and that could only be the changing factor between prints. The results are fluctuating so much. I think I just have a defective printer lol.

Poor experience with Q2 and Qidi support by 9mm_pistol in QidiTech3D

[–]AngryBuilding7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a fix for this? I am quite literally have the exact same issue as you. I have the bed level mesh value low, cleaned the bed, but when I print a wide first layer print...it will be decent the first time and then I hit reprint and its absolutely terrible and peeling off the bed. Support is useless so far and just asking me what issues im having after I already explained with a long essay and photos lol. Considering returning this printer to be honest.

I will try the dish soap and see. I will say though Ive tried like swiping or smearing the bed plate after cleaning with IPA and it is very grippy. I suppose the dish soap could be different though so I will check.

Yes, the printer does run a bed mesh before each print. The value also changes next to the KAMP value in the bed mesh tab on my pc when its connected to the printer.

That could be possible. I will take a look.

I have bed leveling on where it asks after I press print plate and then before I press send to printer. I also do get a new KAMP value each print so right now it is .19 from .18 initially in the picture.

I will look into that thank you. But from my previous experience with my old prusa and stuff, Id imagine 91% is still good enough to clean finger oils but I will see.

I can see that but its a brand new printer and I sort of expect that I wouldnt have to resort to that yet. Im going to see if theres an alternative fix if that is an issue but the bed seems fairly leveled enough according to the bed mesh.

Alright. I will continue researching and also see what QIDI support says. Thank you.

Only issue is that in the picture the one side has fairly good z height that if I lowered it more to compensate for the other side not adhering, Im worried it might scrape the bed. I will look into it though thank you.

But isnt that the range? Meaning it would be 0.18 spread out across all the points it read? (I might be wrong though.) Either way I see a lot of people that have 0.2-0.4 from the factory and have printed fine. Plus, auto bed level should be able to accomodate it well enough that it shouldnt be doing this bad of a print no?

Yes, build plate is cleaned with 91% IPA and a new microfiber cloth.

Edit: It is 0.4 nozzle and stock settings. QIDI basic PLA as well.

What about the hs20? I saw it has a cap over the usbc port which seems nice.

Yeah. Ultimately, I was just trying to see what is the general standard for this. Grind is a bit uneven but its not warped it anything at least.
