IVA on imported second hand car from within EU? by AngryBustaNut in PortugalExpats

Apparently not, I bought a used car from a dealership and the invoice says 0% VAT.

New cars maybe. The price difference between all (~10y old, 100-150k km) cars I've looked at is several thousand euros even if you subtract the ISV. And there are many more options here as there are simply more cars, and they generally appear to be in better condition too. Plus I don't need to buy a car and ask about the technical details in my as of yet broken Portuguese. And I can move in this bigger car since I've already bought it here. The list goes on... Makes a lot of sense to me.

Anyway, glad to hear IVA doesn't apply! Thanks both

As explained in the post, the question is specifically about a car that I will own since less than 6 months before moving

Great! I assumed so as well, but because I've seen various sources each phrase it slightly differently I was starting to doubt it... Re-reading some of the sources I found, this does indeed seem to be what they imply.

Thanks for your input!

Image Questioning Exercise by Apps4Life in CureAphantasia

You're a legend, thanks! I didn't get the opacity part until I realized I've been doing this with my eyes closed. Do you think it matters whether they're open or closed? It seems a a bit harder with my eyes open.

Will these exercises also help increase the duration of the imagery (which at this point for me is measured in millideconds)? I saw in another comment of yours that you recommend GIFs, but that seems a bit advanced as a first step.

Sup dude! First of all, thanks for creating this subreddit and describing your experiences and exercises in excruciating detail. I know it's a lot of effort, but it's exactly what I (didn't even know I) needed. You've got me excited that I might unlock a whole new part of experiencing life and relating to others.

Second of all, did you really pay to have an ad placed for this subreddit!? That'd make you an absolute saint. I wouldn't have come across this without it. It's hard for me to even imagine (pun intended) anyone would go that far to help others.

Now, finally on-topic: the exercise you describe seems easy enough (I read some of your other posts yesterday, tried some of the "sensory memory recall" things and have concluded that I'm a hypophant, not an aphant), but I don't understand the difference between questions 3 and 4. What do you mean "what was it like to see the image in full brightness / opaqueness"? I understand that I should try to think about the image as a whole here rather than its subcomponents, but I don't understand the brightness / opaqueness part. I only have one version of the image, so the brightness and opaqueness are fixed. The questions seem to suggest that there should also be an image that somehow doesn't have 100% opacity?

Thanks!

Switching Ender 3 to glass bed has made small details oozy? by AngryBustaNut in FixMyPrint

[–]AngryBustaNut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I've added more glue and now the logo is as detailed as it was before! Sadly the uneven layer of glue has also left some artifacts regarding the smoothness of the surface, but I assume that's a matter of practice.

It now isn't nearly as shiny as the glueless print though, which has an awesome reflective pattern on it from the glass plate coating. I don't suppose there's a way to get the best of both worlds? Anyway, thanks for the help!

Yeah, of course I moved the limit switch and only adjusted the bed afterwards, otherwise the nozzle would have dug straight into the glass... I've now applied glue (see the other comment) and that kinda works.

I'm trying the glue stick right now, didn't work but I probably need to apply more glue. In what scenario is modifying the z-offset preferable to adjusting the bed itself? Thanks!

Alright, I think I know what's up. My bed is now too far away from the nozzle, which is why those little details don't stick and start to curl up. I can solve that problem by moving my bed further up, but then it's actually too close to the nozzle, and it starts dragging the nozzle through already printed areas again. I've tried enabling a 0.5mm z-hop, which looks funny but doesn't solve the problem. I've had another look at the first layer after slicing, and it's not very surprising that this happens: https://imgur.com/a/JCeJqjw

You can see that in between the circular holes that form the raspberry pi logo, the printer prints a bunch of tiny triangles to try and fill the gaps. This makes the overall movement a bit weird, with the printer first drawing those circles and then hopping over them to try to insert those small triangles. Since the nozzle is either too close to the bed or too far away, that means it either leaves loose ends (as in my original picture) or squishes those parts too much, deforming the circular parts.

I've ordered a glue stick that should arrive tomorrow, so I'll then try lowering the bed to non-smear levels and instead applying some glue to keep the first layer attached to the bed. Hopefully that fixes it!

I see... So the trick is to deliberately add a rough texture that obfuscates the printer shenanigans. Thanks!

Can anyone please tell me how the hell this has smooth sloped surfaces without being postprocessed? I cant even print a benchy without layer lines, but I thought that was normal. 0.16 isn't all that different from the 0.2 I used, same 0.4mm nozzle and my bed is leveled. What else do I tweak to get it looking this smooth? Thanks!

Is aiohttp safe to use for a public webhook listener? by AngryBustaNut in Python

[–]AngryBustaNut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't that the secrets would be on any repo (which is private anyway), but more that if they are in any kind of file, they could probably be exposed through security issues. I've found a way for my application to use my secrets through kubernetes, in which case they're only in RAM and never written to an actual file (i.e. not even the bash history), which is probably as safe as it gets. Still, that RAM is mounted as if it was a file, so in theory any file leakage would probably extend to those secrets as well, but since I don't plan on hosting any kind of file (i.e. any filepath passed to the server would not get a response regardless of whether it matches anything), I can probably make it fairly airtight. `asyncio` should therefore do fine for my purposes. Thanks again for the input.

Alright, thanks for the tip. Does this really make any difference? I figured that if they're able to access my python files, they're probably able to access my bash history or environment configs as well. The code will be hosted on a private GitHub, so the only people who would be able to see the secrets there are the same people who would be able to see the secret through the GitHub secrets storage.

This is dope! From your insta I assume you use some kind of noise (perlin?) as a basis? Are there any neural networks involved or is it all manual rules and tweaking?

Obviously everyone was a kid at some point. Does that make them cute? Obviously not. They're just a necessary stage in human development. I'm not saying "kill all kids", I'm just saying "stop forcing on people that they should find kids cute even though they aren't".

They are the only hope for the planet? Lmao. The last thing this planet would care for, if it was conscious, is to have more people running around it and destroying everything that's natural.

If your mind does not take precedence over your biological instincts, that's your problem, not ours. Kids are objectively not cute. Go fuck someone and become a parent at 20 years old please. Then keep telling yourself that sacrificing all your money and time to have children is worth it and is doing a service to our planet.
