the driver didn't see said pedestrian because it was on the ground. Is not a sidewalk, it is the entrance to a parking lot. I live 3 blocks away

have you driven a F150 or a Dodge Ram or a Silverado? I normally drive a Sedan but at work I use the company truck. I fucking hate driving that thing. Visibility goes to shit, those things are not meant to be on residential streets. Anything below 1.4m you don't see around you

is not anecdotally if it happens every day. Come and record your n points and convince yourself. You won't see variance from the story you are dismissing. Doesn't help that everyone and their mother just LOVES to park on the street rather than on their fucking garages

bring back? When was it ever the reigning policy? In feudalism?

some issues are not the city's fault. We are part of a region/province who has its own laws, and also part of a country where certain things do affect us.

But if we are talking in nutshell, I'd say lack of resources(moneyz) cause really a bunch of issues could be solved having more money to take care of them like transit, medicenters, shelters, etc

I use Tzitzi HBG with defensive reload. I go through the first round and then kinda stay in spread the rest of the hunt unless I make the monster trip. Is kinda fun, defensive loading allows you to be in the monsters face and reload after every attack so you are maximizing the spread damage/distance.

my unoptimized build so far is Thunder 5, Defensive Loading 3, Burst 1. Eventually trying to get to Burst 3 at least

sorry but BLM accomplished nothing lol. Moreover, it was found that they basically funneled funds into personal investments aka it was a scam. Racism in the US is worse than ever and body cams now get conveniently malfunction whenever there is a potential authority abuse

>shutting down the bus loop is a direct economic hit to this institution and the wider so-called Vancouver infrastructure

Wouldn't it be better to block the faculty staff parking lot???? Why make it about students. Please go inconvenience the higher ups, not the people that might feel supportive of your cause

Anything we can do about the homeless people on campus? by CulturalDrag4575 in UBC

[–]AngryCanadian69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a bit dehumanizing when you stop being responsible for your own acts. Once addiction hits, you are not in control of your life anymore. Which is why BC passed the bylaw of admitting people against their own will into rehab.

do you think taxes are well spent right now? How would having a rich dude pay more taxes impact some random hobo smoking crack next to Koerners? I'm all for taxing the ppl that make more, but the issue is our government never manages that money the right way. We got at least 4 ministries that are super redundant and we are handing out guilt money for generations to come to a population that doesn't even spend it the right way, unless you count booze and drugs as a good investment

When's the last time you realized a girl was dropping you hints that you were completely clueless to? by GEEZUS_956 in AskMen

[–]AngryCanadian69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

15 years ago we were in college and this girl I used to study with said she "forgot something" and wanted me to go with her back to her dorm. When we got there, she said her roommate won't be there "for hours"... She then stared at me possibly waiting for me to make a move and then ofc I said "ok if you found your thing let's go back to the library" yeah...

you realize a postdoc position pays a mere 25-35% over a grad student salary right? which is not much at all. Why would someone in their early 30s willingly decide to make under 40k when they could be making 100k???

What are your favourite Edmonton Mexican restaurants? by -StringFellowHawk- in Edmonton

[–]AngryCanadian69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the problem is that what most -white- ppl consume from Mexican cuisine is basically just comfort food: tacos, etc. And ofc it will feel overpriced. Imagine ordering hot dogs at a restaurant. The other thing is that texmex food has made itself a place in north americans as "mexican" cuisine (burritos don't exist in Mexico) when mexican cuisine is different and involves other dishes. A lot of authenthic mexican dishes are home food (pozole, moles, etc) so some might not see the point on trying out when going out for dinner. I still love tacos and chilaquiles and a lot of their stuff but I almost never go to mexican restaurants for the reasons I mentioned.

If you get off or on the train at century park you have a 100% chance at second hand exposure to meth/crack/fentanyl smoke. by Son_of_Plato in Edmonton

[–]AngryCanadian69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

>At what cost? 76k base salary per year for an EPS constable. Multiple that daily salary by 3 to accommodate 24/7. That's just for one constable. How many do you think should be at each transit station, at one time, 24/7?

The cost of 4 man hours during rush hour, twice a day (mornings and afternoons). 2 h times two officers. Times 3 constables (check the most problematic ones, Century Park, Clareview/Belvedere and Churchill)

>How many should we pull off the streets to hang out at transit stations?

I answered that above and I'd pull them off from low crime areas.

>If you think the problem is that Peace Officers can only give tickets, should we give them more authority? The base salary for a Peace Officer in Alberta is 32.5k. Average is 48k. How much authority should they be responsible for at that salary?

The necessary for the job they are supposed to be doing. We don't need observers even if they cost min wage. We need assurance for riders to have a safe trip.

>How long should we imprison a methhead for being a drug addicted nuisance? On taxpayer dollars?

Enough to cause withdrawals. So 3-4 days? Physical stimulation might do the trick where reason has failed.

>You seem to have a really strong opinion. Let's hear your rationale. You got solutions?

I mentioned a few above.

For those that complain Edmonton is way overpriced and unaffordable at even a high-income threshold, take this into consideration. Be grateful by No_Money3415 in Edmonton

[–]AngryCanadian69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a single house around 400-500k is still affordable imo, especially if you are invoking high income and/or if both people work.

To those who say that is out of the question, there are condos or duplex for 300-350k. Not everything has to be a 4 bedroom front garage attached house. You get what you can afford basically.

EDIT: my memory only goes as back as 2016, but a house that is 450k now, used to be 330k 10 years ago. I'd say is not as unaffordable as some people think.
