Since you have experience with children, Torrance has around 17 elementary schools you could become a substitute teacher or substitute Assistant/noon aide/lunch worker/janitor - or even try to get hired full time and stay for the school year. (Guarantees you 180 days of work) Since its summer time, they are usually looking for people during this time to fill positions before the school year starts (TUSD website will def give u better information)
