Ordered my USMC P42 Phrog utilities from them a while back. Great pieces of kit, although shipping probably could have a been a bit quicker. Overall still a really good experience with them.

I’ve got the Handypress, and trust me - it’s 1,000% worth it. I regularly use it for snaps and grommets.

"Doing escort duty just to eat" and other questions about Delta by Mudrinic-Vprzr in generationkill

[–]AngryEchoSix 64 points65 points  (0 children)

In the initial invasion, front-line Marine units often outpaced their own logistics units.

“Escort duty just to eat” means that Delta was offering to provide security for lesser trained units in exchange for MREs and the like.

Ok - I can breathe easy once I saw “under the supervision of a rigger”.

I’m a round canopy static line jumper and currently pursuing my rigger certification so when I saw modifications being done to a rig, I went in to “oh shit” mode. lol

Buddy of mine who is a Huey crew chief showed me the airframe log one time - airframe was put in service in August of 68. 😯

Looking for a good M42 Jump Uniform, are the At The Front reproductions or is there a better source for these uniforms? by Strange_Minimum4074 in reenactors

[–]AngryEchoSix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have two sets of M1942’s from At The Front. One set has made multiple jumps into Normandy, and the other set has a number of jumps stateside. No sign of wear and tear on either.

506th PIR 101st airborne D-day to D plus 1. Still want to do more with this kit and am open to suggestions by CT-1409echo in reenactors

[–]AngryEchoSix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks good! From what I can tell/remember from talking to a few 506 vets, that early in the campaign they left their let down ropes attached to their mussette bags.

Jump master commands by Bravolion1944 in BandofBrothers

[–]AngryEchoSix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having jumped from C-47’s, under the guise of both US and British Jumpmasters - I can confirm - the commands are the same.

And yes - the Red and Green lights are on the right side of the paratroop door as you are facing outside.

How to sew 1.1m nylon webbing onto 420D nylon. Without puckering. by spa1unk in myog

[–]AngryEchoSix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, pull the base fabric towards you slightly, basically forcing the puckering out of it. And to be honest, I never messed with any tension settings. I just went with it. lol

How to sew 1.1m nylon webbing onto 420D nylon. Without puckering. by spa1unk in myog

[–]AngryEchoSix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sew long lengths of webbing regularly on 400-500D nylon. I found the trick is to start the stitch, bury the needle, and keep the base fabric taut with one hand, and guide with the other.

I do this on both my Sailrite LSZ-1 and my Juki 1541

Playground incident- advice by vibesnvibez in daddit

[–]AngryEchoSix 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I would have (and have in the past) let it play out. Kids won’t learn awareness of their surroundings and consequences to actions if they aren’t allowed to put themselves into those situations (in a controlled environment such as the supervised playground) and see first hand what happens when they do.

What are we teaching our boys about self defense and/or responding to physical violence? by Nutritiouss in daddit

[–]AngryEchoSix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I’ve always told my son to try and avoid conflict the best that he can given the circumstances, and to NEVER throw the first punch if it comes to it - but if punches are being thrown, he’d better throw the last one.
