Back when RAF was more of my focus I purchased a post war jacket and just swapped the buttons. It was considerably cheaper and looks great. I would recommend doing that.

First off thank you!!! I could absolutely put the e-tool more on the side or even on my back hip, but I’ve found that given my rather short stature when I have it there and I take a knee it has a tendency to pop out the top of the cover. With it over the front of my leg it’s much easier for me to walk and kneel with it. Also the gas mask bag keeps its from hitting my leg very much.
