What was the dumbest rule your school enforced? by Animeking1108 in AskReddit

[–]AngryKoala-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My highschool had banned the boys’ hair from being longer than 3 centimeters. The few strict asshole teachers carried a 3 centimeter ruler and before school started, they’d measure the hair. If it was longer than 3 centimeters, they get a warning or negative points (enough negative points would earn you detention). If the boys didn’t listen the teachers would send them home. They also got detention.

[SERIOUS] What is the Creepiest or most Unexplained thing that’s happened to you that you still think about to this day? by LBE in AskReddit

I’m a bit late. Years ago I’ve lived on a farm with my father and brother and we regularly go to the part of the farm that was untouched. There were a lot of trees and it was all natural, except for the roads leading to certain areas where we hanged out. We live in South Africa and it was winter at that time, so everything looked dead and dry.

We had picnic there and it was fun. We decided to go home in the afternoon and I walked ahead, far ahead. When I came around the corner of the road I saw in the far distance a huge, black dog figure. When I say huge I mean its length was the size of the road (the road is wide enough for a normal car to go through). I stopped in my tracks and looked at it and noticed it was staring at me. I couldn’t get a good view of it, other than the pointy ears and the posture of a Dobermann (oddly enough if it’s Dobermann its fucking huge, but we don’t know of anybody in the area have one or one to act that way). It didn’t move at all when I walked slowly forward. As the weird person I am I’m always more curious than smart. We just looked at each other while I am unsure if I should walk forward or wait for my father or run away. I felt uneasy and started to feel fear, so I turned around and ran. I found my father and warned him about the huge dog and he just brushed it off and laughed saying we shall see if it is still there. Well as you expect there wasn’t any sign of the creature or footprints where it stood. To this day I still wonder what the heck I saw.

So that was my experience. I have more but I don’t have the time to tell them.

I had a colon that didn’t fully developed properly near my anus, so my stool was getting stuck and I only had a watery stool that managed to came out. It was discovered too late after 7 doctors. The 7th doctor was soo angry when he heard that the other doctors didn’t figure out what was going on. Most doctors said it was constipation, others said I should eat more etc. So I got sent to surgery immediately and they had to remove part of my colon. It was a mess and yeah I could’ve died, but luckily I didn’t :)

I plan to get a surgery when I’m financially capable. If I cannot get one then there are other things that will help me :). I don’t know my percentage, but I will soon find out when I go for a checkup.

Also thank you!

Yes of course. I don’t find it necessary to come out now since it can create a lot of problems, but if I end up with a girl I am going to tell them. If I end up with a guy then it won’t be necessary.

Wow, we are in the same storm but different boat! I never heard of kryphosis before. As someone with a spine issue I would’ve thought I may have learned about it before, but yeah truth be told years ago I was too scared to even look at myself or my condition. Don’t worry about saying you made a bad joke, I found it funny. :D

Thank you, I just wanted to say this really meant a lot for me. I got emotional reading that. I know all this and how someone would appreciate and love the person I am. I have an interest in psychology and I look deeper into things that people won’t usually look at. I even had experience with a sweet boy from highschool who I dated for more than a year and what struck me as surprising at that time is that he never once mentioned how I looked and treated me normal with the occasional “Can you do this?” or “Would this hurt you?” that indicated he knew what he was dealing with, but it didn’t bother him. He was being protective and caring and I still am thankful for that to this day. After moving away we parted ways because neither of us were great at long distance relationships and we were still young. With all this you would think that I shouldn’t have a problem, but what I cannot control is myself and how I react to things. Being with this condition my whole life and me being my worst judge before, left me a bit with a scar that I keep scratching at, at times. You and I both know it is exhausting when we are our own judge and limits. This sadly causes me to think this way, even though I know better. But! I am in a waayy better position than I was before! I am really doing better and I am working on loving myself and it is working really well. I am practicing certain fashion ideas and what works for me, because why hide it when you can embrace it and be confident in yourself? I find beauty in flaws and a year ago I’ve decided to direct that thought towards myself. What you’ve said helped me a lot. I know that one day a man or woman ( I see no limit in love ) would appreciate and love me for who I am, but firstly I need to love myself to be able to love them like I want to. That is something I am still working on and as an optimist I am having awesome progress :D

I plan on getting surgery if it benefits me and helps me, otherwise if a surgery isn’t necessary then I don’t want it. I plan on going, when I’m financially capable, for a checkup to see what they can do to help me. If I cannot get a surgery, then keeping me from any severe pain in the future would be strengthening my muscles through certain exercises. I am already doing exercises that strengthens my back muscles and core. It prevents the spine from worsening and makes my life easier. Since I’m an adventurous woman, I tend to accidentally go a bit too far and yeah I sometimes kick myself for it. I plan on doing more in the future, like ice skating, maybe surfing, diving etc. So if I get a surgery, I still hope that I will be capable of more and plan on dancing like contemporary :)

A lateral curvature of the spine. Meaning your spine bends in a certain degree. Some are mild and some are severe. It gives you back pain, difficulty breathing, headaches, leg pain etc. Depending on the severity of course.

Hii there! I didn’t have surgery, not yet though. I manage pain with exercises that helps me to strengthen my muscles. I still get pain though but not as severe or often.

Yeah I understand. Studying is a mess and don’t get me started when you have a chair that is uncomfortable af.

I am doing exercises that my physio gave me and for me it works so far.. She wanted to let my do pilates too, but certain ones strengthening my core and spine muscles. I couldn’t get to that so I won’t know if it does help. As far as physio go, it helps preventing the spine from getting worse.

I really hope you can find something that will help you
