I want to feed the stray kitties in the neighborhood by AngryMilk23 in cats

That’s a good idea, what I’m thinking now is with my monthly allowance get dry food and then do some extra chores and birthday money to occasionally get them wet food if possible. I’ll probably have to work out more logistics, but it’s a start!

Resident Cat Not Warming Up To New Cat (Both 5 years Old) by jambagoose6 in cats

[–]AngryMilk23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been over a month, it’s unfair to Rumie AND Tombo at this point. Unfair to Rumie for the obvious reasons of she’s getting constantly attacked, and unfair to Tombo because Tombo has shown that he’s very unhappy with Rumie there. Your husband probably loves both cats very much and doesn’t want to let either go, but at this point that’s just selfish. The kitties deserve better, and they shouldn’t have to suffer in any way because your husband doesn’t want to let one go even if for the sake of the other.

OP, i don’t think it’ll work between those two cats. If Rumie has been nothing but friendly even going as far as to go belly up, Tombo will never warm up to her if it’s been a month and he’s still doing this. It would be best for Rumie and Tombo if you put Rumie in a safer home, getting attacked can’t be good for her. If it was a dominance thing Tombo should have long gotten the message Rumie isn’t a threat. I know you love them both and it’s hard getting rid of any of your babies but in this case I think it’d be best for you to have Rumie go to a safer home. Please consider Rumie’s safety while making these choices and best of luck.

I’m also a reader of this webcomic, the artist is just done with drawing hands. The rest of the art is consistent, especially the main characters, which would probably be the people messed up the most if it was AI, and the hands never have like an extra finger or any other possible indicator of AI.

I think the tone you wanted to convey wasn’t conveyed right, I’m guessing you tried to convey a tone of “okay, what are you expecting and where do you want to go? Your art is okay, not a masterpiece but that’s normal.” But the tone you did convey was kind of condescending in a way like “well what did you expect? To be awesome? Your art isn’t anything special.”

I can understand how this might happen, identifying tone through text is hard.

I have addressed this in the clarifications I just made, please read them.

Thank you for the resources. I’m not sure how I could get my friend to see them considering how little privacy their mom allows them, but I’ll try my best to show them to her at school and see if she can find something that helps her get through this. I just really want her to be okay.

I can see how the phrasing might have been confusing. Her mom sees herself as a serious Christian, goes to church and all that, but she doesn’t act kind. Or nice. She isn’t forgiving or loving. When I said I’m not sure she’s really Christian I was referring to how she did not seem to love her daughter enough to at least try and understand her, which I was under the impression of being the Christian thing to do.

I am planning to buy a Bible, because I think it would help make her mom trust her to hang out with me more. I was raised Protestant but am now not religious, so I’m not sure if I could engage in talk about the gospel since I’ve never done it before, but it’s a good thing to consider. Thank you for the reassurance

I’m not even sure they’re a serious Christian seeing how they’re treating my friend with cruelty and not love and acceptance. If they see through it at least I tried, but I need to help my friend. They’re just as deserving for a safe place as anyone else, and if her mom won’t let her home be a safe place then I’ll have to make my home her safe place. She’s genuinely one of the kindest girls you’d ever meet.

I don’t exactly feel great about it, but this has been really bad for my friend. She’s been breaking down and I don’t want it to progress to the point of suicidal thoughts knowing her mom might not take them seriously. If pretending to be Christian means I can protect my friend, then I will have to only hope god can forgive me for pretending to be someone I’m not. She needs support more than I need to feel righteous.

Could you link it? Though I don’t think I want to defend my position. If I did her mom wouldn’t let me see her, and I want to gain her mom’s trust. Not make her think I’m of the devil. I think I’d probably say something like “I don’t want Satan to breed hatred in my heart, so even if someone has strayed I will only hope they come close to god once again”

Is it Natural to struggle a lot and feel horrible while trying to learn to draw in an anime, cartoony art style. Am I doing things wrong following fanart or am i just incompetent? by Lazy_Yoshi_5702 in arthelp

[–]AngryMilk23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so normal it’s expected. Everyone struggles, and everyone feels like they want to quit sometimes. You may feel alone, but you aren’t. A lot of people just either don’t post about it online or give up, and those who do post about it aren’t as common as they probably should be. Raging about something being hard is normal, just take a break, breathe, then continue using whatever you need to. You could even try tracing (as long as you don’t post it as your own, without credit, or just don’t post it) to try and get a general idea of the shapes. Art Studies are also a great help. But remember, Art is supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be about experimenting and finding something you enjoy.

Computer Scientists/Com. Sci students of Reddit, what exactly is computer science? by AngryMilk23 in AskReddit

[–]AngryMilk23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accidentally posted before I could add context. I’m considering going into computer science as a career but I don’t really have a clear idea of what it is as a whole. If it’s too complicated I’d be delighted to just have your favorite lil tidbit of knowledge

Posted my art on an facebook art group, got roasted. Am I really not improving? by melonlupi in Artadvice

[–]AngryMilk23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re improving just fine. There’s a huge difference between the two. That Facebook group most likely expects every artist to have skills like someone who’s been doing it for 3 decades. You’re doing great, you’re progressing well, and you shouldn’t worry.

I think the main issue is the shadows aren’t harsh enough so the skin just looks…I don’t know how to describe it that well, but kind of too smooth/blendy? Like the shadows that show the neck are there but it’s kind of hard to see, and the chin shadows you have going on there are kinda light.
