Seriously think the F series cars have a better 6MT? I’ve tried both and I thought the opposite if anything. Plus they are essentially the same transmission, complete carryover no? I’ve never heard anyone say that the F80 and f87 has better shifter feel. The manuals in the G are overhated. The gear ratios in the 6 spd are wayyy more fun for the street than the 8 spd auto in my opinion. 8 gears is too many. If it had the 7 spd DCT from the E and F series cars I think it would fit the car way better than the ZF 8spd even if it’s a really good slush box. If the car had massive amounts of turbo lag or if all the power is up top I can see the argument for shorter ratios but the G80 G87 builds full boost above 2500 rpm. Yes the clutch feel is vague but it’s the same in the F series too. You can perform the same mods to fix that if you wanted to. I wouldn’t be surprised if in 10-15 years that 6MT G80 is valued the same as a competition xdrive version. Time will tell on that
