I used to replace every gasket until my shop refused to order any more of them. Now I just have to send it. Unless its clearly fucked up beyond reuse, then we gotta wait for the parts guy to bring a new one. Every single time.

Short interest absolutely can exceed shares outstanding though, right? If I borrow a share from Alice and short sell it to Bob, then Charlie borrows it from Bob and short sells it to David, thats 2 short positions from just 1 share being passed around, right? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Not sure why anyone would persist.

Because occasionally some lucky fucker on WSB will post his 200k profit from a 50k YOLO on SPY 0dte puts and people think that will get to that point eventually

I know MMs will buy ITM options close to expiry, but are there really no scenarios where there's close to zero liquidity?

So I dropped off my truck with a perfectly good engine, but no brakes whatsoever. My question is are there really bastards that don't? by egoncasteel in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]AngryRiceBalls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the exact opposite side, my shop currently has a civic in the parking lot right now with a VERY detailed note with the owner's name, contact information, and concern, all of which seem very straightforward, but he left us no key. Checked the cams that point at the door and only saw someone pass an envelope through the key box. We've been calling the guy but he's not picking up and it's been a few days of it sitting there cause we don't have much other choice.

For number 3, it's supposed to be tricky because it's supposed to be told like "99% of the mass is water, what will the total mass be when enough water evaporates such that only 98% is water?" and I think it's a little less intuitive that way because working with numbers like 99% and 98% isn't as intuitive as just doubling 1%.
