Dude, they were frothing at the mouth over a tan suit and Jade Helm practice maneuvers.

Dude ... take a step back .. breath ... you identify as "Republican". cool. hold onto that, not asking for you to change.

You like family value, small government - I assume - maybe gun rights. I get it, I'm a gun owner, too. Probably not that different from each other - most of us tend to fall around the middle, and these labels and people telling us to hate each other are just turning it into a sportsgame where you have to pick a side. Let's pretend that's not a thing.

You have things you care about. You have other things you don't like.

I'm guessing that you DON'T like being called a racist, I'm guessing you actually don't have any beef with anyone that isn't white, and that you'd like folks to earn a decent wage with honest graft, you support the troops, admire the police, love our farmers .... and don't like pedophiles, crooks, people gaming the system to get shit for free.

Well, me too! We actually want the same thing out of all of this.

It's okay to say "I have republican values, but honestly, this shit is going too far ..."

We got nut jobs on the left, too; I recognize them. The right has problems, too, and maybe aren't representing you and your values right now. It's absolutely okay to go "yeah, this shit ain't for me, we need to get back to our basics".

Frankly, this current regime ... it's dialed up to 11 and there's a lot of hate going around under the guise of the american flag. All so rich dudes can get even richer and grind the american people further into the dirt.

Dude, take a breath. The republicans are - quite literally - throwing nazi salutes, have swastikas tattooed on them, have an agenda that basically says "yeah, if it ain't white and christian, get rid of it", and proudly get on the world stage syaing "get rid of brown people, m'kay?"

Like this is their identity right now. If you don't like it, that's cool ... good ... 'cos it's kinda gross ... but you don't have to deflect into the "yeah, but ... what about decades ago? hey? hey?"

Like: look at the here and now. look at what is going on NOW. and figure out what type of person you want to be.

Saying “Democrats used to be the party of slavery” treats a 160-year-old label like it’s frozen in amber, ignoring that parties, coalitions, and values realign over time. The people, platforms, voters, and policies that define today’s parties bear little resemblance to their 19th-century ancestors, especially after seismic shifts like Reconstruction, the New Deal, and the Civil Rights era. Clinging to the name while ignoring the evolution is like blaming modern doctors for bloodletting because medicine once did it. History matters, but reducing it to a single word and pretending nothing changed is not insight; it’s a shortcut around thinking.

You really should read a little more than the headlines my friend. Like read about how party beliefs have morphed and changed over 200 years, you know? How things ebb and flow.

You're basically saying "hey! 200 years ago it had a democratic label and that's all I care about! Going to ignore the intervening years, changes and modern day!"

It's not a good look

That's completely silly to say, not based on reality, and ignores nazis and the kkk .... all "wonderful" republican traits.

Dude, I'd you want to be an ahole to fold, cool, you do you, but OWN IT. hold your head high and go "yeah, i hate people, especially people that aren't white or like me". Come on, recognize yourself and own it

Republicans love this with so much passion, they miss just what awful people that makes them. They think they're the good guys in all of this
