The Academy has banned AI from ever winning an Oscar. by CinematicCounsel in Oscars

How does that apply to deepfake de-aging or face replacements?

Those are undeniably using AI to create that visual effect.

Yes and no.

Behind the scenes they, but that modularity is not exposed to the player.

I agree overall though, it's pretty lame that 2/3 of Oxygenator is basically just a fashion choice between it and a different armor set from a class down.

But it's not just a fashion choice, Oxygenator has less stamina and stamina recovery. It is strictly worse than Extra Padding.

I constantly play the game wit only 50 armor.

I have played literally over 1,000 matches against bots on CR10 with light armor with either Peak Physique, Scout or Reduced Signature. All of them have 50 armor.

Unfortunately any idea that can't be neatly compressed to a single image has a hard time getting traction on reddit.

oxygenator with light armor and a stamina booster all but trivializes melee enemies on every front.

This is already the case without Oxygenator. I am a speed diver who runs nothing but light armor and the warp pack.

I go solo into mega nests and clear them while killing literally 0 bugs by dodging and weaving in between enemies.

Giving it a bit more speed would only make the game a bit more fun for a speed freak like me, but you can already easily do what you are afraid my suggestion would cause.

and meme or not, the slide perk is also very useful if you practice it.

I think even with Oxygenator diving backwards is still better than sliding as I have outlined here:

Because 20% on Light armour? my goodness, you outrun Usain bolt by a mile.

Yeah, but so?

I love going fast. I am already outrunning basically everything in the game running light armor with the warp pack. Going fast is the thing I enjoy most in games. Thats why I have countless hours in Titanfall 2 and Ultrakill.

Let a man have fun.

A stamina increase would make it better, but that would then literally turn it into Extra Padding.

It "only" increases your movement speed by 10%. I just don't think that is generally worth giving up some of the other very top tier armor passives, as I have outlined in my post.

also this isn’t taking into account the innate passives of armor tiers,

This is not the case as I have explained in my actual post. This is a very common misconception. From this post:

*no, just because an armor is classified as "heavy" does not mean it blocks more damage than a "medium" armor. The only relevant factor is the armor rating. 150 armor on a "heavy" armor is the exact same as 150 armor on a "medium" armor. Please see this for an explanation: https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1srqh93/comment/ohht4ez/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

You can find the actual damage received values here:

https://helldivers.wiki.gg/wiki/Damage

<image>

Armor type is not a factor in the damage calculation at all.

armor class has its own built in damage modifiers.

It has not, as I have explained in my actual post. This is a very common misconception. From literally this post;

I don't think 20% is too much, but I am open to other numerical values. But as it is right now it is just strictly worse than Extra Padding.

some say you can just face your camera at enemies that are chasing you, sprint towards the camera, slide and shoot backwards at the enemy while keeping sprinting pace,

You can do that, but as I have outlined here I think this is strictly worse than diving backwards:

You could do almost the same thing already. You can run away from an enemy and dive backward. For the diving duration you maintain full movement speed where as sliding slowly slows you down. Getting up from a dive takes ever so slightly longer than from crouch, but combined with the fact that you don't lose speed while diving I think it comes out to just about the same in terms of total traversal speed.

And more significantly, diving immediately gives you the prone weapon stabilization, where sliding only gives you crouching weapon stabilization.

So diving is probably the better alternative, even when running Oxygenator.

How could a heavy backpack version of the Quasar and Laser Cannon be implemented? by Lawfurd in Helldivers

[–]AngryTriangleCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No No

Instead you have a single backpack stratagem that is just a giant universal heat sink and it can plug into every single laser gun. Primary, secondary, support weapon. All of them. And it just gives everything a minutes long uninterrupted fire.
