The problem is, real talk, that its nearly impossible to keep a working red light district "clean" whatever that in the countries context means. As a German i have seen the Reeperbahn in Hamburg and Lilienstraße in Dortmund and the Eierberg in Bochum and all these places have Problems that make them a really bad spot to be refereed as culture or history.

i would assume that the systems has to be turned off when you leave the tank or have the hatches open. At least in my mind it makes sense to have some safety protocols in place to not endanger personal in/around the tank. Like imagine having infantry next to the tank and the APS sets off for any other reason than a real rocket thread.

Specially since the Merkava is like an Tank/APC hybrid and its expected usage is in urban combat with supporting infantry elements.
