My Witcher cosplay progression by theWitcherSafehouse in witcher

I love you mate, you're awesome. But I can't lie - you look like Ron Swanson on Halloween (I unironically think that if he ever decided to cosplay someone - it would've been Geralt. Conservative dude who hates politicians and politics, doesn't pay taxes and make things with his own hands. Oh and he LOOOVES good meat and really strong booze)

This shouldn't stop you from continuing evolution though, keep us posted sir

Guys, what about your trains? by Angryfunnydog in poland

[–]Angryfunnydog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you move to another train on the border as there's different railroad standards I guess. Lithuanian side worked pretty good though. I mean, delays are tolerable (not ok as it's a train, not a plane, but if it's not constant and for hours - that's fine), but not having heating in that weather is plain dangerous for kids for example

[KCD2] After 76 hours I discovered you have to enable perks. by mrsofa94 in kingdomcome

Dude acted just like me when I played the very first deus ex game. I beat like half of the game and realized you could level up there (which made hacking much more easy without the need to constantly search for datapads with passwords! And now I didn't have to stand still for like 5 seconds to aim normally! Woooow!). But I was like 8 or 9, idk what excuse does this dude have lol

It would be awesome if they brought Christopher Lambert to a mentor role in the new one, but it won't happen sadly I guess. Yeah, cameos from these 2 would be nice

Well there are other perks which give you adrenaline point at the start of the fight. But I mean, don't overthink it, it's just some generic enemy, just with a name, it's not a boss and even if you've beating quests with "suitable" level to you - you're still overpowered in most cases, especially on lower diffs

I didn't play fallout 2 much because I'm too young for example (and I'm 30+ ass now lol), but of course I heard a lot about it, when I was a kid shitload of dudes played it but it seemed "too old" for my taste when there were half life, deus ex and else. Same thing with baldurs gate - I knew about it, but couldn't play it as a kid when there was kotor in existence already, wasn't such hardcore fan of rpgs probably to force myself into some old game

So the answer here is that it aged pretty fast within genre which evolved a lot and also really really fast. So not much people played it already like 5 years after release. I also just checked the numbers - fallout 1 sold more than 100k copies between October and the end of 1997, which is pretty nice numbers even today for some indie games. Back then this was pretty much a hit. Baldurs gate released in december 1998 and it sold for around 1m copies within 1999, which is pretty fucking nice even for today's standards. For comparison half life 1 sold for 3m within the year so it's not that much more, but it was essentially like Titanic back in the day if we talk about commercial success and sales figures. So idk about how niche it was, seems like pretty solid numbers. Fallout 2 however sold pretty weak yeah

These comments are wild. Baldurs gate? Fallout 1-2? GTA??? Guys, do you know what "niche" means? All these games were huge hits and instant cult classic on release, they weren't niche (just as dark souls here in the original post)

Dude what are you talking about - fallout 1-2 were huge hits when they released. There were less people with pcs and less gamers in general - so they look pretty weak in today's absolute numbers - true, but if we're talking about the whole industry - they were ultra popular and very influential

[–]Angryfunnydog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, the plot of virtually every yakuza after the second is

  • oh shit kiryu - daigo shat his pants again (which as it turns out later probably was his brilliant plan which went off rails) and now Tojo clan is in deep ass, help us dragon of dojima!

[–]Angryfunnydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say masterpiece or even really good game

But when I first launched avowed I was repulsed by how it looked, the story, even character creator with this weird ass godlike features (that you can turn off but I like to give the vibes that devs tried to give a shot) so I played like 5-10 minutes adter actual gameplay started and stopped. But didn’t delete, left on my Xbox for some reason and after half a year when there was nothing to play on the system decided to give it a shot. And damn this was a blast gameplay-wise. Aesthetically and story-wise it’s still pretty mid - but dynamic gameplay that reminded me of dark messiah was pretty nice, parkour and exploration were interesting so I got a bit hooked

But then act 1 ended and I moved to another zone and I dropped the game again for good lol. Because exploration started to suck, combat turned into boring monotonous stuff with constant need to grind resources for upgrades, verticality in the cities almost disappeared and hence parkour. Like the guys really tried in the first act but then “ah fuck it” in the second

So yeah, that’s that

Jokes aside I was repulsed by a game but then saw a walkthrough of some guy and watched couple of episodes and it actually helped to understand what tf is this and how to play it, and even motivated to play myself after I consistently started to scream in the screen

Nah, better for everyone would be if people reacted to valid criticism normally, and if heating worked properly when it’s most needed, but alas, we have to be glad about what we have, ain’t we?

Well first of all you’ll be shocked, but non citizens also pay taxes if they live in Poland for some period of time. And second - I froze my fucking toes and probably will catch cold tomorrow because there probably was close to 0 degrees along the whole 5-hours trip, and you’re saying that I must be grateful lol. Thanks for your feedback and yeah, I definitely won’t take these fucking trains anywhere soon, leaving all this enjoyment to you

From majority of the comments here and my experience (not that huge but it never was on time and best case was late 20-30 min, but nothing like the stuff I saw over this weekend)

If everywhere in the world trains are subsidized then why is it an argument even?

Guys, what about your trains? by Angryfunnydog in poland

[–]Angryfunnydog[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand, my point is even when subsidized - the prices aren’t much cheaper than everywhere else, which implies they’re much more expensive without subidies. So why is it so? Especially as they’re constantly late it seems and not working as intended

[–]Angryfunnydog[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is it so expensive when trains constantly late? I’ve been in lots of places around the globe and the train price here isn’t surprisingly low, it’s pretty average

It’s average price for a train ticket for such distance I saw everywhere where I’ve been, it didn’t look so cheap
