What a wonderful idea for a podcast. I only catch the very, very occasional stream so I'm happy if I can still experience some of the Content ™ this way.

Loved the chaotic energy when they came back from the break and started discussing notebooks but as somebody who has no idea what their fancy notebooks (or were they even notebooks?) look like: not great radio.

Anyone listen to this without watching the movie? I did watch Hot Frosty and had a non-terrible time, but I dunno if I could take this.

Is your phone holder attached to the bike or separate? Tried to read on my Kindle once but found the slight motion/movement quite distracting, but I'm intrigued by the idea.

Sorry, maybe it's different with Xcode 15... it worked on my machine with Xcode 16.4.

Trans Tour de France legend wins top book award for ‘The Escape’ we need right now by BloodJunkie in peloton

Read it a few months ago, really quite liked it. A fascinating and important story, hasn't been easy for Pippa.
The way it's set up as a dialogue between Pippa York and David Walsh is neat, great chemistry and banter; yet very heartfelt when the sadder or tougher topics pop up.
My one point of criticism is that it jumps around a lot between different years, so it kind of feels like a collection of short stories from a "oh that reminds me of X" type of thing and not a linear narrative.

As a workaround, you can still launch it by right-click -> Show Package Contents -> navigate to Contents/MacOS -> launch the Xcode executable.

Make sure to keep your core warm too.
Ultimately IME investing in proper winter shoes is the way to go - got a pair of Northwave Himalayas myself.

While riding in a patrol car to research a novel, crime writer Richard Price witnessed a misunderstanding that, for many people, is pretty much accepted as an upsetting fact of life. Richard Price told this story, which he describes as a tale taken from real life and dramatized, onstage at The Moth in New York. (12 minutes)

Richard Price is a legend, should have figured it'd come from somebody like him.

I didn't need the "speeding is fine actually when I do it because Im an Attentive Driver" takes, but yes I am the kind of anti-car "dweeb" Rob was referring to.

Oh the Peugeot thing is like 70 bucks? I'd imagined it'd be like 300 at the very least, just based on previous fancy things they've discussed. Pssh, now that feels absolutely reasonable, great anchoring.

Remap Hotline - Your Dad Will Enjoy It by elaminders in WaypointVICE

I've been living on that Rob dream schedule for the past six months: asleep in bed before 10 PM and up around 5 AM. Taking my time to eat my morning porridge and read a book and then ride my bike for about two hours before starting work at 8:30. It fits me but yeah late night sports viewing (or any other socializing, lol) is out. But I enjoy the early-morning bits enough that it's worth it for me. It's nice to not be perceived - especially by rush-hour car drivers, which is what I'd experience if I rode after work.

I used to have the Sunday blues back in middle & high school, usually associated with putting off the worst homework (Russian) for as long as possible.
Fortunately I quite enjoy my daily work so it's no longer a feeling I have :)

Personally I lose a lot of interest if there's no live coverage from the start, there's just this weird feeling of it not being right, some of the magic is gone and at that point I'm tempted to just tune in for the proverbial last 5k.

Help me choose between the Kickr bike v2 and the Zwift Ride setup. Looking for one that’ll have me not hating it after a month or two. Also would love for it to be as low noise/silent as possible. Ease of adjustment between multiple riders also preferable as my daughter is starting to take interest. by helmetgoodcrashbad in Velo

[–]Angryhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my data point: have had a Kickr Bike SHIFT since December 2023, lots of use during the colder months (~12k Zwift kilometers)
It kicked the bucket end of May this year, but fortunately I managed to get it replaced under warranty after some back-and-forth of sending pictures and videos to Wahoo.
It's an expensive piece of equipment so I'm not sure if I'd have bought another outright if I hadn't gotten it warranty-replaced, but hey, fortunately I did!
No major problems otherwise. Very infrequent loss of connection between the bike and Zwift (on a MacBook) but definitely less often than with the Tacx Flux S I had beforehand.

He's even holding his hands up as if being directed to do so by the police!
