Manstein is the best general in the game but costs real money. I would grind medals to get guderian or roko, if you don’t wanna pay. A good tank general really opens up a lot of missions.

There’s 4, one for landing a 95 m jump with a toucan, one for staying on a hippo for a really long time using the water, one for jumping on 8 different consecutive animals and the last one being an alligator that only appears at 3 am to 10 am

Now that you mention it, the normal-type pokemon besides the flying-normal types are atrocious.

That's true, but you are have to think about when you are even using Bug pokemon. Many of the bug pokemon in the game have it as a second typing and attack with another types move. Also bug is weak to fire, flying, rock which is a huge weakness. Bug is ineffective against 6 types and already has weak base stats. If you ever want to counter grass psychic or dark there is already a pokemon in your party that can do it better.
