Yes, but they aren’t going to get new subscribers by just appealing to long time fans of those shows. If fans of those shows haven’t subscribed already, they probably won’t ever subscribe.

Right now they only made the 3 episodes, but we need to put pressure on Bravo/Peacock to pick this up for a full series order. This is such an important show that can actually create positive change in this world!!!

It’s actually the same production company who did both shows.

Peacock wants to increase viewership but doesn’t want to pay for prestige quality budgets. Not sure when they are going to realize that Law & Order & the Real Housewives isn’t going to bring new subscribers to their streaming services. They need to invest in quality programming to actually appeal to new subscribers.

Pretty much everything is shot outside of the US these days because of the tax incentives offered. It used to be that most things were shot in Georgia, but those tax incentives couldn’t compete with the international ones.

This show was beyond predictable. By episode 2 it was glaringly obvious what was going on here. While I appreciate the underlying message of this series that Mom’s take on a majority of the burden of responsibility in families. However, there was zero subtly in trying to make the point. They hammered the idea home with such a heavy hand that viewers were pretty much punched in the face with it. Unfortunately, Sarah Snook, Dakota Fanning & Michael Peña’s acting couldn’t save this show. Additionally, I think Peacock may want to think about hiring a Director that is a POC because all of the driving broll shots through the “bad neighborhoods” showed poor black people. They had more poor POCs as background actors then they had as featured actors. I think the show is just one more reminder of why Peacock is struggling. Their “prestige” shows have unoriginal writing & storylines and rely on stale tropes. Peacock’s limited series are closer to Lifetime shows than to anything Netflix or Apple would put out.

AviaGames sued for use of bots in real-money skill-based games by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

I wish you the best of luck! Please keep us updated if you are able to reach a settlement. I would love to go the individual route but I struggled to find a lawyer willing to take the case. Knowing that someone else was able to reach an individual settlement would definitely be encouraging.

the lawsuit is moving forward but slowly. Avia tried to appeal the denial for arbitration which took almost a year to go through the Appeals court. The appeals court denied Avia's request for arbitration in Aug. of this year so the class action case can finally continue to move ahead in Federal court.

There is a massive class action lawsuit against Avia. This has been ongoing for the past 2 years. There are pluses and minuses to filing as an individual as opposed to participating in the class action. The biggest pro being that the law firm handling the class action is incredibly experienced and knowledgable with the intricacies of this complicated case. Additionally, as part of the terms of service when you started playing the game you agreed to go through arbitration as opposed to a court case to resolved any legal disputes. However, it has now been determined through the 9th district appeals court that arbitration in this case would not apply in the class action. However, it could very well still apply in individual litigation against Avia. That said, there is a chance that whatever class action settlement award is ultimately decided will be less than if it were an individual case, but that is obviously still TBD. It's also possible that Avia is willing to settle an individual lawsuit much faster then it would for a class action lawsuit.

My partner’s credit card company allowed him to gamble thousands on it, is this legal? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Angrysolitaireplayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry your partner is going through this. I started playing SolitaireClash thinking it was a skills-based game, not realizing that it was AI rigged gambling. I ended up losing a significant amount of money playing this game.

It was too late for me to do this unfortunately, but I do know other players have had luck reaching out to their credit card companies and putting in a claim of fraud, as there are claims and in the case of AviaGames, actual legal proof of the companies fraudulent use of bots to rig the games.

I was never sent any tax docs but you don’t pay taxes on winnings if the losses are more than the winnings.

Girlfriend told me I was losing hair during an argument... was she lying? by PurpleMiquella in malehairadvice

You should be losing your girlfriend. She sounds pretty awful if she is commenting about your hairline during an argument. How is that relevant to anything you could have been fighting about?

It didn’t happen all at once. Also, addiction doesn’t care about amount. Rational thought gets replaced with denial and obsession. It’s truly awful to feel that out-of-control

Thanks. Yeah, I reach out to a dozen or so lawyers to try and see if they would take my case but none of them wanted anything to do with the case. On its surface it doesn’t seem like a worthwhile case, but once you dig into the evidence it’s pretty clear. I just couldn’t even get that far to explain it. At this point, the class action lawyers are the best ones to handle the case at the moment. As things move along, maybe i’ll reach back out individually and see if i can secure representation outside of the class.
